My paintings are highly decorative, however I feel they also serve as a reflection of the beauty and complexity that nature provides. I like to capture the essence of a landscape, stylizing it and making it my own. I employ colour, pattern and repetition to portray the layers of foliage and vegetation that can be s...een within the landscape. My paintings are both a direct reflection of my surroundings and an imaginary world a secret garden that exists in my mind. A whimsical place that I can go to escape and be lost within. 23.01.2022 A few years back I started a tradition with my daughters that we dubbed Magazine Day. Once a month they would choose a magazine each from the local newsagency and we would head to a cafe for breakfast together. It started as a way to encourage their love of reading and combine it with my love of coffee & making memories, and it has become my favourite day of the month ever since. It was so nice to be able to head back out and start it up again this month! 20.01.2022 I took a few days out to explore our beautiful corner of the world along part of the Six Foot Track before things get crazy with Christmas. My daughters, Mills & Beans, found it hilarious that I took only a half-full tiny tub of moisturiser (not the full one) to keep my pack weight down, yet left in my Baileys, coffee plunger attachment and fairy lights. It’s all about priorities I guess... I’m back at work today and the fairies (Gloria and Jess) have been hard at work in my absence. 18.01.2022 My Dad would have been 70 today had he not been taken too soon... He was a motorcycle champion, an amazing chef, and a friend to everyone that knew him. He was the fun Dad and Kong Kong - the one that taught you to ride motorbikes and drive go karts, and built you double storey cubby houses. He shared his love by sharing his food and there was always plenty of it at his table.
