04.01.2022 THE OLD MILL CAFE 12 Pym Street Millthorpe The Old Mill Cafe owners Patty and Danielle have donated a breakfast for 2 voucher for one of the Major Millfest Prizes.... THE OLD MILL CAFE - Before 1882, the town was called Spring Grove and when the flour mill was built the combination of the two words of Mill and Thorpe (thorpe being a Middle English word for village) were joined, and since then this quaint little township has been known as Millthorpe. In its heyday, this Mill was one of the largest in NSW sourcing grain locally and also from around the state. Where The Old Mill Cafe & Restaurant stands today was (apparently) the town bakery, and slowly it has grown into the wonderful boutique cafe that it is today. The charm of the old building is still evident today with the beautiful ceilings and timber floors, and its a delight to all who walk through her doors. In August 2018 Patty and Danielle (mother and daughter) purchased the business and are continuing to produce all the meals, cakes and coffee that the locals and tourists have come to love and are slowly growing the menu. MILLTHORPE BOUTIQUE MOTEL - The motels history dates back to the 1930s. The motel was developed using the shells of two existing historic buildings. Construction started in January 2008. It involved the gutting of a 1930s produce store and a Victorian cottage. It was of the greatest importance that the streetscape and the overall look of the buildings were preserved. Also, as much as possible of the internal features was retained. The produce store now holds reception and two loft apartments while the cottage has a two bedroom apartment and studio room. The rear of the block was first developed with eight units in new structures, with another eight units added later. The Motel was opened in late 2008 offering four star accommodation and over the years the motel has kept its four star AAA rating. The Millthorpe Boutique Motel has 20 rooms and offers guests convenience of location and a quiet place to relax.
