The New Years Eve 2019 bushfires devastated our national park. Along the water front near Green Island the bush land was saved. Now months later the native birds have taken residence in the coastal banksia and casuarina trees as they still grow green and wild. The red tailed black cockatoo can be seen in the tops of the trees watching over Green Island while the land heals and rejuvenates

The 5.4 km (2 hr) loop, also known as the Governors Head Walk..., takes in panoramic views of Jervis Bay. Youll be able to check out the surrounding waters sea birds, penguins, seals, dolphins and whales from Governors Head. Munyunga waraga dhugan means white-bellied sea eagles home camp in Dhurga, the Indigenous language of the Wreck Bay Aboriginal people. This moderate grade walk is a self-guided tour which includes eight interpretive signs along the way that explain Booderees plants, animals, culture and history. Keep to the track and you will reach the lookout with breathtaking views of the headland and Bowen Island. Continue along with ocean-side viewing and youll be able to see all the way to the northern headland of Jervis Bay, including the spectacular sheer cliffs of Point Perpendicular. Munyunga Waraga Dhugan starts at Murrays Beach car park, and dont forget your binoculars!
