22.01.2022 Our centre will remain open throughout this terrible period. We will keep all centre systems operating, phones answered and the reception desk manned as long as we are able. All our physical office tenants will still be able to access their offices 24/7, even in the unlikely event that reception has to close down. ... We have placed hand sanitizer in strategic places for all to use and taking extreme measures to disinfect all work surfaces within the centre. This includes cleaning all kitchen, bathroom and reception surface areas and door handles every evening.

17.01.2022 Brisbane's Ekka public holiday will be moved to later this year. With the Ekka cancelled for a second year, it makes sense to move the public holiday. This wi...ll give people the chance to take advantage of the long weekend and support local businesses at a later date. Moving the public holiday last year to the people's long weekend proved to be very successful. The Scenic Rim Regional Council has also requested to move their show holiday. The date for the new public holiday is expected to be decided in the next parliamentary sitting as it requires legislative amendment.

15.01.2022 Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner orders almost 1000 parking meters to be switched off to help ease the burden in challenging times Lord Mayor... Adrian Schrinner has announced that from tomorrow, every parking meter will be turned off and fees slashed to $5 a day at Brisbane City Councils two major car parks to ease the financial burden on essential workers. While a major section of the population has transitioned to working from home arrangements From tomorrow, to help support those still at work, all Brisbane City Council parking meters will be switched-off, making more than 8,000 spaces free of charge. We want to ease the burden for our frontline staff working around the clock; our nurses, doctors, ward staff in hospitals and medical centres are flat out, our warehouse workers are pumping out food deliveries and our supermarket staff are overwhelmed. Theyre being told not to catch public transport, which means reverting to cars and in turn paying for parking this is about easing the burden in challenging times. Our two off-street parking stations will also have their fees slashed to $5 per day, saving users up to $30 per day. In addition, Council parking officers have been asked not to issue fines, except in cases where illegal parking is causing a dangerous situation. The Lord Mayor is "calling on private car parking operators to follow Councils lead by reducing fees in private parking stations. Combating this pandemic requires a team effort and all industries, communities and all levels of government must work together" #keepingourcitysafe #strongertogether

15.01.2022 Remember to get out and support Queensland businesses this People’s Long Weekend! With many local shows cancelled across Queensland due to COVID-19, we passed... legislation allowing councils to move their 2020 show holiday to Friday, August 14. We did this to give more Queenslanders a long weekend and deliver a boost for the tourism industry through our #GoodToGo campaign. Bookings have already been very strong, with Queenslanders jumping on the opportunity to have a break, explore the state, and support local jobs and the economy. It’s not too late to book, but the clear message from the industry is to do it quickly. The new August 14 public holiday applies for Brisbane, Weipa, Rockhampton, Livingstone, Mackay, Gold Coast, Logan, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Cloncurry and Bowen. #ekka #qldjobs

This also applies to inters...tate travellers from Victoria. As with previous pauses, it will be under constant review. Five linked positive cases of COVID-19 in Melbourne’s northern suburbs have been confirmed by the Health Authority in Victoria. Information about locations of interest are provided on the Victoria Health website and are being updated regularly - https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/exposure-sites Airlines and border officials will be asking people to declare whether they have been at one of the locations of interest. If you have, you will not be able to travel from Melbourne, or any border in Australia to New Zealand. Anyone in New Zealand who has been at a location of interest in Melbourne at the specified time should contact Healthline on 0800 358 5453 as soon as possible for advice on isolating and testing. Anyone who has visited Melbourne since 11 May should monitor for symptoms and seek advice from Healthline if any symptoms develop. Quarantine-Free Travel flights from New Zealand to Melbourne will continue at this stage. If you are planning to travel to Victoria, you should follow health advice and be prepared for possible disruption to travel plans.
