23.01.2022 Please see below link for an update from the Office of Sport and Dr Kerry Chant and attached information from Sport NSW, regarding non-essential travel within t...he state and its impact on community sport. As per Dr Chants recommendations the PCA NSW State Executive will conduct a full review on the viability of this years State Championships and confirm the outcome as soon as possible via a separate communication. However at this it is highly likely that all 2020 State Championships may be cancelled, not just those in to be held in the next six to eight weeks. As per the recommendations club activities may still go ahead under certain conditions as long as clubs have up to date Covid Safety Plans and complete a risk assessment for each activity to determine the risk to attendees regarding these recommendations. PCA NSW recommends that in addition to all Covid Safe Practices including staying home if you are unwell, restriction of participants from affected areas, social distancing and good hygiene attendees that attendees wear face masks when not riding, this includes all spectators and volunteers on the grounds. Clubs must cease any activities that result in overnight stays (camps) due to increased risk of COVID transmission with shared facilities. Ceasing of zone, regional or state championships or competitions for the next six weeks as these activities bring together participants including spectators and officials from different regions of the state. Riders who have nominated for the immediately affected State Championships will receive full refunds and nominations for further championships have been suspended until a risk assessment is completed by the State Executive for the balance of the years activities. Zones hosting Regional Schools, Instructor Schools and Assessments must review their Covid Safety Plans and risk assessments to determine the viability of the activity under these recommendations. As these activities have limits on attendees and do not include overnight stays/camping for participants they may go ahead with extra Covid precautions to be taken, including the wearing of face masks by all attendees when not riding. 22.01.2022 Kids practising social distancing today
22.01.2022 What a great first rally back today perfect weather meant that we could get many activities covered which kept the kids going all day We welcomed many old members back after such a long (forced) break and also a few new ones . Everyone practiced good social distancing and had a great day Those that attended were graded for (hopefully ) up coming competition (COVID regulation pending of course) A huge thank you to our CI Gail and guest instructors Amber and Carolyn ...for your valuable input. Also our members Matt, Tony and Rochelle for stepping up today helping out with instructing. Thanks to all our volunteers for helping set up and pack up at the end of the day as many hands make light work and last but certainly not least thank you to Michelle and Gaby for cooking some yummy food for our hungry members Keep your eye on FB to see when our next rally will be. Stay safe and keep riding
21.01.2022 It's raining, it's pouring.... The weather prediction of rain, rain, rain is looking right. Unfortunately we have to cancel the rally planned for this weekend. 20.01.2022 We really appreciate the help of parents (strappers) to ensure their child's uniform and gear is safe, fits correctly and complies with pony club rules. Gear check must now be done with no direct touching by the gear checker so please continue to assist by being familiar with requirements. Remember no dangly earrings and girths tight please! Pony club gear rules can be found here: https://www.pcansw.org.au/docs/general/45/section_07.pdf
19.01.2022 Here’s a reminder of some of the most recent Covid-19 measurements that Pony Club NSW have put in place to keep our communities safe: Riders must compete and t...rain within their zone or nearby zones (this relates specifically to those whose clubs are on the border of two zones) where possible No overnight stays to be held in the next six weeks (from 21st August onwards) Clubs and zones that were scheduled to hold school holiday camps may look at holding multiple day instruction days with members returning home each day Restriction of travel for those members of clubs not located within their local area Clubs and zones must complete a risk assessment and Covid Safety plan for all activities Exclusion of anyone who seems unwell or has recently travelled to an ‘affected area’ as listed on NSW Health website Clubs and zones must monitor NSW Health website and revise and update these plans accordingly regarding restriction of attendees from Covid hotspots Communicate clearly to all members your expectations on their attendance including but not limited to the following: Nomination process Restrictions relating to parent/caregivers to one per rider only where possible Providing contactless options to nominate, provide Covid self-declarations, canteen orders etc. where possible Communicate new practice surround gear check (still contactless as per example risk assessment) Communicate details of PPE available noting that members should also carry their own personal hand sanitiser and attendees must all wear face masks including riders when they are not riding Provide signage at the venue to remind members about social distancing and good hygiene practices With school holidays just around the corner we want to encourage clubs and zones to safely hold their activities and hope that these guidelines help in some small way. For the full list of measurements please visit https://pcansw.org.au/management/risk-management. We understand that these extra restrictions will place an added burden onto committees who already have a lot to organise and we thank you all for your hard work and acknowledge that the sport relies heavily on our wonderful volunteers.

15.01.2022 From Saturday 26 September, interregional community sporting competitions can recommence without restricting these activities to regions or zones, where there i...s a COVID19 Safety Plan for the community sporting activity in place. The advice provided in August regarding limiting spectators to one parent per child, and inter-region sport and recreation activities has been removed, however organisations must still ensure their activity is delivered in compliance with the Public Health Order and the COVID-19 Safety Plan requirements. This includes the requirement to adhere to the 500-person limit for community sport activities (including participants, officials and spectators) and adhering to the one person per four square metre rule. Organisations and spectators must also ensure that physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres is maintained between people that do not come from the same household. If this is unable to be achieved wearing a mask is recommended. Clubs are instructed to update their risk assessments with this new advice.
