25.01.2022 What a great turnout to the Active Travel Celebration this morning! There was a fun obstacle course and a visit from some local police to talk about bicycle safety!

25.01.2022 On Friday, Year 5 put their knowledge of Civics and Citizenship to the test in our own Milton State School election. Our students have been learning about Australian Values and the Electoral Processes in Australia. They identified areas in our school that they could improve and potential solutions. Their campaign was then presented to the Year 6 Cohort who voted on their ballot papers. A great day was had by all in this real-life simulation of leadership and Democracy!

24.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Year 4 teacher, Rebecca McCracken, whose work in the teaching of reading has been recognised in the latest book produced by international experts Sheena Cameron and Louise Dempsey. These practices are adopted across our school. We have incredibly talented teachers!

18.01.2022 Monday February 24th, 6pm - Come along to a free Cybersafety session. ThinkUKnow is an Internet safety program delivering interactive training to parents, carers and teachers through primary and secondary schools across Australia using a network of accredited trainers. Created by the UK Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre, ThinkUKnow Australia has been developed by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Microsoft Australia. Trained AFP and Microsoft volunteers deliver the presentations.

17.01.2022 Today our year 5 students had a visit from the Street Science team. They took part in a range of awesome experiments that explored changes in states of matter. What a great start to another week of learning in Year 5!

16.01.2022 The Milton Mates whole-school chess tournament was held yesterday! There were tournament players, friendly games, and a few people who were learning to play chess for the first time. Well done to the award winners and to everyone who joined in the fun!

16.01.2022 It may look like milk, but its actually 29 LITRES of pancake mix (including a vegan & gluten free batch)!! A few busy bees helped make it yesterday - ready for the Active Travel celebration morning this Wednesday, 4th March. So walk, ride, scooter, skate or ride share to school on Wednesday, then reward yourself with a pancake. Itll be happening in the Undercover area from 8am.

06.01.2022 Some Prep students had a fantastic experience being filmed for a live Studio 10 feature of Tom Thum's beatboxing storytelling.

06.01.2022 Did you know that we have a published author on staff? Adam Duncan self-published his first novel, Chaos Imprint, earlier this year. He has now released two short stories for upper primary/high school aged children. They are the first two in a multi-level series of short episodes. The premise behind the stories is that in a mysterious global event, where the Northern and Southern Lights spread out and joined at the equator for 24 hours, and magic was born into the modern world. The author proof copies are now ready to order. Up until the 10th of November, they are available for pre-order, $10 each or the set of the first two books for $16.
