It’s the perfect time to get your vege bed ready for Spring planting Here’s some pics of my backyard with 4 x 1mx1m beds & the steps I used... - lay down cardboard to stop grass/weeds coming through - got help to built a non toxic border (hardwood building timber - surprisingly cheap!)... - filled with compost/soil mix(approx 10cm) - thin layer of lucerne straw - another layer of soil mix (add fertiliser) - then straw on top as mulch I left a day or 2 in between each layer to let the rainwater get right in I will finish mulching around beds in the next few weeks Today’s the new moon so next week perfect time to plant some greens & next month spring veges! then chooks!!! ...to be continued x Minnie See more
