23.01.2022 With winter sports final and grand finals just around the corner, I wonder how prepared you and your team are? Recent concerns expressed to me lately have related to the following; Confidence- How much do you believe in yourself or are you more worried about your opponent(s)... Focus- Is your focus on your job, the result or something out of your control Pressure- Are your expectations too high? Are you feeling pressure from others? Preparation - Are you eating well, sleeping well, hydrating well? Do you arrive too early to the venue and waste your energy with worry ? All of the above can impact on your performance. So how ready are you? To obtain more information or make an appt phone 0414778006 and gain the competitive edge.

20.01.2022 Fiona McCarthy is a dynamic and engaging speaker, with a mastery over her subject matter. Her presentation on the psychological components of chronic fatigue sy...ndrome provides a novel, yet scientific approach, to the relationship between psychology, behaviour and chronic fatigue. Passionate in her pursuit for change, McCarthy invites her audience to actively participate in her workshops, a method that allows the individual to adopt interventions that can be easily implemented into daily practice. On account of Fiona's innovation, honest approach and professionalism, I highly recommend Fiona as a speaker and psychologist. 17.01.2022 As the winter season sports are approaching we have developed a 3 part series to help you better understand important aspects of the mental side of sport. Hope you enjoy! Part 1. Dealing with Winning and Losing 1. Keep winning in perspective. Enjoy it but don't get carried away with it or it will consume your thinking and take the focus away from the upcoming process or job at hand. i.e. the next game or training session.... 2. Don't try to seek perfection in every performance or training session. Look at being the best you can each day and accept that some days will be better then others. 3. Losing is not failure. Failure is lack of effort and/or not willing to learn from your disappointment. 4. Don't blame others for your mistakes. Take responsibility for your wins and losses. 5. Enjoy the challenges sport presents and believe in your ability.

17.01.2022 Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy and positive. Although you will be missing your sport it is important to remember the health of everyone is far more important to take care of at the moment. Sport as we know it will be back for you all to enjoy. In the meantime it is so important that you continue to challenge yourself physically, technically and mentally. Now is the perfect time to work on aspects of your sport that need improvement. Be honest with yourself..., challenge yourself to improve on something each day, enjoy the extra time you have, explore some new hobbies. Get yourself ready to return to sport bigger and better than before. If you need help with any of the above or with motivation, direction or a chat feel free to contact me via Facebook or email [email protected] Be kind to yourself, stay positive and keep working on aspects of your sport.

12.01.2022 Ever wondered how to be a positive parent to your talented child/children. Well here are 5 top tips to assist you. 1. Listen to your child both verbally and non... verbally. Hear what they are saying. When did you last ask them if they are happy in their sport. Often we just become robots taking them to and from training and games and time ticks away. Use the travel time to and from venues to find out about their day and how they are feeling. We all get tired and confused about things. Give your child the opportunity to express themselves before they become burnt out and disillusioned with their sport. 2. Let the coach do the coaching. Don't confuse your child with extra instructions. If you have any concerns talk directly to the coach. Don't let your child be the innocent 'meat' in the sandwich. 3. Be present when engaging with your child. Put your phone and devices away and 'look up' and see them playing, smiling and challenging themselves. You can learn a lot from observation and your child will love seeing you watching them rather than your device. 4. Be there for them in good times and not so good. Help them to understand and deal with success and disappointment. It is all part of learning. 5. Use sport to teach lessons of life. Sport is a fantastic vehicle to transfer and interrelate the true meaning of courage, teamwork, dedication etc. Enjoy watching your child develop and challenge themselves. These moments are priceless steps you don't won't to miss! Look up, smile and put things into perspective.
