18.01.2022 Did you know that your garden may contain plants that are toxic to dogs! Some examples are: Lilies, marijuana, cyclamen, sago palm, azalea, oleander, kalanchoe, chrysanthemum, autumn crocus, English ivy, peace lily, tulips, iris, hydrangea and more. If you suspect plant toxicity please seek veterinarian advice immediately . #MrDarcy

18.01.2022 Meet handsome Bailey His mum was having issues with him barking at almost everything. Visitors had to be informed to not ring the doorbell or knock when they arrived as this set Bailey into bark mode. His mum was also not allowed to watch her favourite vet show due to Baileys barking at the other pooches! After just two sessions Bailey’s barking has minimised substantially! The doorbell is rung and there isn’t a peep and Bailey’s mum can finally watch her favourite show in peace! Tip: Barking is a natural behaviour HOWEVER excessive barking is a behavioural issue. Please seek professional help prior to barking collars or medications as these will not stop the barking but are used as a training aid and if used incorrectly they will not work #goodjobbailey #dogsofinstagram #dogtraining #mindthepawsgc #dogoftheday

12.01.2022 Happy Monday #didyouknow Your puppy can sense your feelings. They can pick up on subtle changes in your scent, which can help them figure out how you are feeling such as by smelling your perspiration when you become nervous or fearful. It’s also likely how dogs can detect certain diseases or know that a household member is pregnant. #mrdarcy

07.01.2022 Separation Anxiety can be picked up and prevented from an early age. Anxious behaviors like pacing, whining, or trembling while you’re gone or as you prepare to leave. Excessive barking or howling. Destructive acts, such as chewing or digging, particularly around doors or windows. Accidents in the house urinating or defecating. Excessive salivation, drooling, or panting.... Desperate and prolonged attempts to escape confinement, potentially ending in serious injury. If your puppy/ adult dog has any of these behaviours, behavioural training is highly recommended. Although there are medications that can be used to reduce the anxiety, it is not a solution/ long term result. Medications should only be used to assist alongside behavioural training #dogsofinstagram #mindthepawsgc #dogtraining See more
