15.01.2022 Meet Evan. A life-changing decision has proven to be a success story for the Minda team member who decided working in a warehouse as a forklift driver was no longer the right fit for him. I wanted to work in a job that’s more person focused, says Evan. It was when it came time for him to complete his 120 hours of work placement as part of a CHC33015 Certificate III Individual Support (Disability) through Minda’s SA Learning Centre (RTO code 4881) that he made the big leap, ...quitting his job and contacting us about placement opportunities. Evan, pictured with client Ian, was offered not just his placement hours, but for the last three months has been employed as a Disability Support Worker. Do you see yourself or anyone you know working in disability? Jump onto SALC's website for more info: https://bit.ly/2Gzk0ZO
14.01.2022 What a difference a press conference can make! It certainly shows just how quickly things can change and we hope, like us, you’re excited at the news of relaxing restrictions. South Australia will come out of hard lockdown on midnight on Saturday (three days early), and for Minda it means the recommencement of our services, in line with SA Health Guidelines. More detail is available here https://bit.ly/32PIc1T It is important that we also adapt to any further guidance and adv...ice specific to our sector and we will let you know if there are any further changes. While we are all relieved that restrictions have eased earlier than anticipated, we’d like to remind everyone to regularly check the SA Health website for updates, remain vigilant about social distancing and hand hygiene, and continue supporting each other through what remains a stressful time for many. Thanks to all our amazing clients, staff and family members and to you, our Minda community for offering us support, patience and understanding. We can’t thank you enough!

08.01.2022 It’s incredibly meaningful being part of a child’s journey and seeing them develop new skills and bringing them back to the happy and enjoyable life they deserve, Gary says. I love being able to provide support to staff and children, such as taking them shopping so they can buy a new novel, or driving them to their first soccer game. Meet Gary one of our dedicated Support Leaders in Children’s Services. 01.01.2022 While COVID-19 restrictions have eased, there's still work for us to do. Protect yourself and those around you by continuing to keep 1.5m distance between yourself and others, remaining vigilant about hand hygiene, and wearing a mask in public when 1.5m distance isn't possible. SA Health are recommending you wear a mask in: ... shopping centres supermarkets hospital, health, or aged care sites on public transport. Remember to continue to check SA Health's website and social media for updates, and check in with your family, friends and neighbours (safely, of course!) who might be doing it tough in these stressful times.
01.01.2022 Last week we hosted our first outdoor activity for our lovely clients after an almost eight-month hiatus (of course, with COVID-safe plans in place!)
