22.01.2022 R U OK? Today is R U OK? day and the focus this year is 'There is more to say after R U OK!" Learn what to say at ruok.org.au A conversation could change a life.

21.01.2022 Don’t forget Free dress day on Friday the 13th of November. Please bring a food/non perishable item to school on the day to support the Mayor's Christmas Appeal - supporting those in our community who need help throughout the christmas period.

21.01.2022 No staff will be at Mindarie tomorrow. No Sam, Gill, Claire or Anne-Marie. There maybe cars in the car park. That is because those living in the northern suburbs are busing to Kings Park where staff are going on country for their Professional Learning.

20.01.2022 Another way that we can assist with the traffic issues with the roads around Mindarie Primary School is to use the parking facilities in our Mindarie community and allow the kids to walk from there. In this video, we showcase some of the local parking areas that we encourage families to use. There is no chance of getting a parking fine in these places, and the extra 20 minuites of exercise for the kids per day can only serve them well. Lets get 'On the Same Page' with the traffic around our community - it's everyones responsibility.

18.01.2022 Wow, what an amazing response the Fathering Sub Committee of the P&C has had to the pizza and movie night. As we are still in phase four in relation to COVID 19 we need to adhere to the 2 meter requirement. This, sadly, means that the event is now closed. Dads and children attending, given the level of attendance, please bring a blanket or towel that will define your families space. Please bring your own supply of hand sanitizer. ... Water bottles are essential. These can be refilled at school. If you have a cough, cold or temperature, stay at home. Email the school to advise of this and the school will pass the information on to the Fathering Project committee. Please continue to abide by the phase four requirements. No handshaking. Have a wonderful evening with your children. See more

18.01.2022 Don't forget! Tomorrow is Walk Safely to School Day! Now in its 21st year, National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event when all Primary School children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a Community Event seeking to promote Road Safety, Health, Public Transport and the Environment. ... The Student Leadership team will be monitoring each gate from 8:25am to congratulate students who walk to school! Each student who walks, rides or scoots to school will receive a "Walk Safely to School Day" sticker and a PBS Stamp in their diary! They will also receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win a major prize! What about if we live too far away from school to walk? Park and Walk is an initiative that we use to get parents to park at one of our local parking areas and let the kids walk to school from there. Bellport Park, Avondale Park, The Marina and Basils all make great Park and Walk locations. Can't wait to see as many children walking as possible!

11.01.2022 Couldn't ask for better weather! FACTION CARNIVAL!

10.01.2022 Kinross College is the local intake high school for many of our students. Their Open Night scheduled for Wednesday 28th October for prospective new students and their families to explore the campus and facilities.

08.01.2022 This morning, our Kiss and Drive took 74 cars between 8:25am and 8:45am. 13 cars, 18% of cars, stopped in the wrong spot (area in red) to wait for a spot in the wrong bays. Each time, these road users blocked traffic and forced cars to bank up behind them. During the full 20 minutes of survey, we only saw a total of 2 cars use the final three bays (blue arrows) of the Kiss and Drive - we would love to see more people use these bays. Parents should always drive forward to the green arrow, look for an open spot in the Kiss and Drive, and pull as far forward as possible when doing drop off and pick up.

07.01.2022 Important Reminder! Friday 28th August is a School Development Day. Staff are attending off site professional learning and there will be no one at the school on this day.

06.01.2022 Good evening everyone, The P&C meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow (5:30-7pm Wednesday 29th July) has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for a day time... next week (TBC). The reason for this cancellation is lack of numbers. In order for a meeting to be held, a minimum of 8 financial members must be present. We often receive feedback from the community that a meeting after school would make it easier for more parents to attend. So please, become a financial member, it costs $1 per year, it does not mean you have to attend every meeting nor volunteer at every event. But it does mean that you receive meeting invites/ agendas/ minutes, and can RSVP easily. Our P&C is made up of people who give whatever time they can. For some it is an hour or two here or there, for others it can be counted in hours every day, or week, or just for a specific event. We would love to have more parents/ caregivers involved, so please join as a financial member and let us know what you can do

06.01.2022 The Inter School Faction Carnival has been rescheduled to Wednesday the 9th of September and we will be hosting this here at Mindarie once again!

05.01.2022 Important announcement - Friday pizza lunch Apologies for the short notice, but pizza lunch has been cancelled for this Friday 11th September. Unfortunately our supplier is unable to fulfill our orders. The P&C will contact QuickCliq to arrange refunds.

05.01.2022 Hi all, Just a reminder to get your orders in before 8am tomorrow morning for Subway this Friday. Please take note - next Friday, 28th August is a Pupil Free Day. If you have already ordered a pizza (like me) please cancel your order. ... Thank you, Mandy

05.01.2022 Over the past four months, we have been surveying road users and viewing behaviours of drivers the use the roads around our school. This is the first video of many to try and get everyone "On the Same Page" - making sure that everyone gets fair and safe use of our roads at all times. Lets all work together to ensure that we provide safe and better flowing roads to all road users in Mindarie.

05.01.2022 It was a chilly start to the day but Rigby was pretty happy to be at school. The best part was saying good morning to everyone at the Kiss and Drive gate. There was lots of pats and smiling faces this morning.

04.01.2022 Did you know that 20% of our student population live within 400m/5 minute walk to school? How about 75% of our school population like within 800m/10 minute walk to school? Even quicker if you are cycling! Mindarie Primary School is now a Your Move registered school! Keep your eye out for more information in the coming weeks about this new initiative!

02.01.2022 Unfortunately after much deliberation and research into weather conditions over the next few days, I have had to sadly make the decision to reschedule the Faction Carnival and the Athletic Field Events this week. The Faction Carnival has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 24, 2020. The Athletic Field Events including, jumps, throws, the 200 meter races and A division races will be held this Friday, September 4, 2020. Year 3 - 6 A division races are to be run this Frid...ay as part of the Athletic Field Events, due to the need for interschool qualifying. Pre Primary to Year 2 students do not participate in the Interschool Athletic Carnival. It is important to note that the Year 3-6 A division races, along with all other races will be repeated on Faction Carnival Day on Thursday September 24, 2020. Please find the program for this Friday's Jumps and Throws and Year 3- 6 A Division Sprints attached. I will send out a revised Faction Carnival Program for the Faction Carnival shortly. Cheers Mr Burns

01.01.2022 Reminders: No school tomorrow, as it is a School Development Day. Please check the latest newsletter for information about the Faction Carnival which is next Wednesday, September 2. Have a lovely rest of the week and weekend.

01.01.2022 "On the Same Page" We need your help to complete a road safety survey! We are committed to encouraging our students to use bikes, scooters, walking and public transport to get to and from school safely more often. With the increase of children using active ways to get to school, we will see a drastic improvement in road traffic. This survey will enable us to find out a little about how you travel to school, what challenges you face using active modes of transport and where possible, find solutions to these challenges. We aim to reduce the number of cars at drop off and pick times, to create a safer space around our school environment. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx

01.01.2022 So say all of us. Thank you all so much.
