21.01.2022 So often when we hear talk of weight and of working to change our weight, we hear that it is a simple equation of energy in versus energy out, and this is generally referencing metabolic energy or our food intake and our movement or exercise output. There are a few things that are wrong with how simplistic this equation is, firstly by not considering how vastly different each of our individual bodies react to different foods and movement types as well as not factoring in the ...level of stress our bodies may be under at any given time. But most importantly, it doesn't consider all the other types of energy we are intaking and outputting in our lives. Weight is so much more complex than calories only. There are many types of energy that our bodies might be holding onto as excess that we may not be expressing fully in our lives like creative energy, relational energy, monetary energy, sexual energy or spiritual energy. By working in the areas of these other energies, we can often see shifts both mentally and physically. Tell me below, how do you balance your different energies? . . . . . . 21.01.2022 How much time do you spend thinking about food? How much time do you spend thinking about your body? What ratio of that time is spent on positive thoughts versus negative thoughts? How much of that time is dedicated to thinking about ways to change? I remember when I first started this work and learning all about what to do if I wasn't dieting anymore, I began to notice just how much time I spent thinking about dieting, thinking about when to eat, what foods to eat, what food...s I couldn't eat later now that I'd had this food now. I also began to notice just how much of the conversations around me centred on weight, body and food, and that these conversations were always about needing to lose weight, eat less and that our bodies weren't good enough. Of course, we support each other... "no no, YOU don't need to lose weight, but I definitely do"... For many of us, this is a familiar narrative. We often talk about being so busy and not having enough time to think about and do everything that we need to. Imagine if we harnessed the time we devoted to weight and diet thoughts and talks for those other things? How much time would you gain back? Today's challenge for you is to begin to notice how much time is spent in yourself and with others thinking and discussing food and body, and beginning to have some curiosity around how well it is serving you. . . . . . 18.01.2022 Earlier this year I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to create some video content helping people understand what's involved in Eating Psychology Coaching. Putting my nerves aside, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time filming and sharing my passion for helping others to find their freedom with food and body.

01.01.2022 A great way to use up the last bits in your jars or containers of sauces is to make yourself a great salad dressing. Simply add three parts of olive oil to one part vinegar (I'm using red wine vinegar here, but you can use apple cider, white wine, sherry or balsamic) and then add some seasoning (think salt and pepper, garlic or ginger, chilli or mustard) and shake it up. The flavour combinations are endless and each of your jars of sauce will give you a different base flavour each time! Give it a try yourself.
