17.01.2022 Day 2 of Women's Health Week Meditation; "the practice of putting aside time to train your awareness. It encourages and develops quieting of the mind and an inward journey of self-understanding". A beautiful explanation from the gorgeous @connectwithcarly... I have "practiced" meditation on & off for many years ~ more recently in a consistent & scheduled manner, after completing a meditation course with @connectwithcarly Meditation can mean so many different things to all of us. What I think is most important, is the way in which Meditation impacts, connects, relaxes & grounds us! It's a dedicated time for the brain to relax & recover from stress, anxiety & is an ongoing tool to positively impact our whole body! 15.01.2022 Day 1 of Women's Health week! I'm brining you a series of 6 stretches to help with that tight upper back, shoulder & neck area, that might come from; being "hunched" over at a computer, working general bad posture or; being a mum & constantly lifting the little ones ... Starting with our Cat Stretches ~ co-ordinate your breathing which each change in direction ~ keep the shoulders relaxed & just move your spine in a way that feels nice for you! Thread the Needle Stretch ~ breathe out as you reach through ~ your aim is to get the shoulder & head down on the floor, for a nice rotational stretch through the back. Again, do what feels nice for you! Chest Opener ~ breathing out as you draw the arm back ~ your aim is to try & get the arm down on the floor, or to where you feel the stretch across the front of your chest/shoulders. (Keep the hips facing forward) Chest Lifts - open those shoulders up to ceiling ~ feel as though you're trying to lift the sternum (breast bone) up Shoulder Rolls ~ just breathe as you go forward & back Neck Stretches ~ take the ear to the shoulder, breathing on each one and then gently around in a circular motion! 11.01.2022 Day 4 of Women's Health Week Looking after our body from the inside out, is one of the keys to feeling like the healthiest, happiest version of ourselves! Healthy food definitely isn't boring! Get creative Queens!... Check out my Pizza - so much delicious goodness, so easy & quick to whip up! Pizza base of your choice - I use a gluten-free one (being celiac) but if you can find a wholemeal base, great! Add some extra fibre to your diet! A tomato paste, pesto or aioli sauce Red onion, meat of your choice, chillie ~ if you like a little spice in your life! Baby Tomatoes chopped, mushrooms, capsicum Meredith Feta Spinach & little mozzarella if you're feeling cheesy! This is just an example ~ there are so many yummy things you can pop on top! Make it satay with some chicken & penuts, make it Mediterranean with some lamb & Greek yoghurt, make it from sea with some prawns ~ the options are endless! Dinner ideas!? We warm up with our mermaid stretch...
