The steps below may help you understanding why you're hitting a forgiveness roadblock. ... If you felt like the one always being blamed for situations in eg childhood, your role may have been the "Scapegoat", the "problem", the "trouble maker" as you were pointing out your perceived truth of what was taking place behind closed doors If you were the "scapegoat" in eg the family etc or you're prone to taking ALL the blame/responsibility then you may find yourself resisting in the process. The "Im sorry" phrase is another phrase for "I forgive you" At times, our mind plays tricks and we can eg associate I'm sorry with "I'm the only one responsible". A solution: A way of looking at it is to take 50% of the blame or another way is to take 100% of your "part" (50%) of the blame. Steps to work through saying sorry (forgiveness): 1) Sorry for your perception of "them" blaming only you and them not having the understanding 2) Saying sorry for your 100% "part" of the blame" 3) Sorry/forgiving yourself for always taking all the blame 4) Accepting this situation is what it is as the rest is out of your control 5) Finally letting the situation go Set yourself free!
