25.01.2022 OPEN GYM We run open gym every Friday between 6-11am and it’s a vibe! Our open gym entails all of our babes coming in and training at their own pace, doing their own programs and things. ... If they’re all caught up on their training programs, we’ll write them a new workout to complete in line with their goals. We like to think that our babes can achieve this because our main focus in our classes is teaching them how to do things correctly, including to read and execute their training programs. Pretty rad when you really think about it. We’re always excited to meet new ladies who are eager cultivate more guidance and direction with their health and training. We all have our moments of self-doubt, when our confidence is seeming fragile and we feel less-than-worthy of our goals, dreams and desires (especially in the gym). What matters is not how quickly you recover or force yourself to get through the rough patch.... What matters is that you don’t stop. Even if forward motion for you is taking a deep breath or simply setting your intention to show up. What’s the smallest possible thing you can do right now to create forward momentum? What’s even smaller than that? You are worth it AND, you’re allowed to have what you want AND go through times of stuck. Stuck is not the same as stopped. You can quit, just don’t stop.

23.01.2022 AT HOME SERIES 5 of 5 This is video 5 of 5 exercises that can be used at home to CHALLENGE your entire body in a new and progressive way - no equipment needed! Youll see you now have a whole workout if you go back through the series. ... Video 5 (this) is a Squat with Overhead Reach. The key with this exercise is to take your time and focus on movement efficiency. Key cues: - Alignment (top of head to tailbone stacks). Resist lumbar arching. - Brace belly for impact using breath. - Active fingers and hands as you reach out and overhead at the bottom of your squat. - Arms raise in line with ears and hold for 1-3 secs. - Spread the floor on the way down. - Squeeze glutes at top! 09.01.2022 Its not uncommon for our fellow coaches and physios to walk into our gym and feel blown away by the time, care, and energy that weve put into making our group training environment so UNIQUE. Building smart and progressive training systems for an entire gym while honouring the needs, desires, starting points and capabilities on an individual level is rare. It takes so much time and energy to build and execute what we have created and its because of this that so many of our... members feel STRONG, INDEPENDENT, CONFIDENT and DRIVEN in the gym. Capturing their progress week to week and training with PURPOSE while understanding the WHY behind whats being asked of them is such an empowering way to learn and thrive. By no means are we perfect and, we offer something very different. Its not uncommon for our members to be doing something completely different to one another because THAT serves their body, goals and capabilities and honours their progress. And then we top it all off with mindset coaching. Supporting one another, building resilience, confidence and trust. 09.01.2022 Hey gang! Coach El here. 10 years coaching women and the best I can come up with is it feels gross. Just wanted to give a massive shout-out to all of our amazing babes who joined me in today’s Squat Masterclass. I had a ball!... Would love to know what you’re biggest takeaway was in the comments below? There’s something deeply satisfying about coming back to the basics. The foundations never really leave a program (at least, they shouldn’t). We simply come back to them and incorporate them time again. Today I had our babes pair up and assess each other’s squat patterns, ankle mobility and hip mobility. Reassessing their squat patterns after each exercise that was given to them to improve both. Lots of questions answered and squat confidence achieved on multiple levels! Our next workshop will be scheduled shortly for February and entails single-leg variations such as lunging, elevated split-squats and single-leg squats. We’ll start at the base of the pyramid with assessment, range of motion and fixes. Remember: Some of us can squat simply because we have the range of motion and ability, but this doesn’t automatically translate to a great FEELING squat. There is a difference, and learning what that difference is MAKES all the difference.

By Day 5, youll have a whole new workout program. ... Video 4 (this) is a Iso Squat Hold with Low Trap Squeeze. The key with this exercise is to take your time and focus on SQUEEZING your muscles (feel them turn on). Main cues: - Alignment (top of head to tailbone stacks). Resist lumbar arching. - Brace belly for impact using breath. - Make claws with both hands to create tension. - Arms raise in line with ears and focus on squeezing your lower traps (just below the middle of you shoulder blades) and hold for 1-3 secs. Add 1.25kg or 2.5kg plates in either hand for an additional challenge. Tag us in your videos on IG stories and wed be happy to check out your form! 04.01.2022 Strength. This is our dear girl @karly_madison deadlifting 120kgs last week in her first PR attempt since we came back from lockdown. This post is to highlight and celebrate her incredible efforts, consistency and LOVE for lifting and, to show women that lifting heavy, the way we do, has nothing to do with how you look. ... Karly has been working towards this since December 2019 and we couldnt be more stoked for you babe. This is a MASSIVE achievement and youre an inspiration to us all. What we love and encourage about lifting, is to focus on exploring the incredible capabilities of the human body. Strength, like most sports, is a way to challenge and explore your capabilities by pushing yourself further than you ever thought possible, mentally and physically. Aside from the amazing internal benefits (like strong bones and great movement/body awareness), strength has proven time and time again to EMPOWER women inside AND outside of the gym. Strength inside the gym transfers into the outside world, too. Moreover, lifting heavy and showing yourself what youre capable of is a really powerful way to focus on something other than how your body looks. Were deeply committed to using movement as a form of empowerment. We know many woman who have come into our space genuinely concerned about getting too bulky or building too much muscle. Loves, strength does not automatically equals bulky or lots of muscle. Muscle is developed via strength training, yes, how we, it simply doesnt grow in abundance like this. It may take years of specific training and eating for this be the case. We know there are SO many of you beautiful ladies out there curious about getting STRONG and trying out a new way of moving. These two incredible souls didn’t know each other before they started their journey, and now they do PT together every week, inspiring us as they go!
