24.01.2022 I'm high and I'm low, no control But everything's looking peach now . . . Peach by @broodsmusic was playing on the weekend and James pointed out that this song was about me. Not until I really tuned into the lyrics did I realise he was right. Living with bipolar disorder ain’t for the faint of heart.. but the more days I’m on this journey learning to manage my illness, are even more days that make me realise how courageous I am facing something difficult and well let’s fa...ce it... dangerous. It’s no easy ride, but I’m thankful for a great support system, the power of education, and lithium. The more I know, the better I can manage this beast and be able to live through it with more smiles than none. 21.01.2022 Keeping me ‘stable’ since 2014. Lithium is still the gold standard for long-term treatment of bipolar disorder. 1350mg then > 675mg now I still remember the day I stepped into a Darwin pharmacy to buy my first lot of lithium tablets. I was so ashamed of having to ask for them over the counter that I waited until the pharmacist was on their own so I could quietly place my order. She was such a kind lady who put my fears aside when she shared that there were at least 2 people a... week (in the small town of Darwin) who came in to buy lithium at their pharmacy. Now each box lasts about a month depending how much your dosage is so that reassured me that I certainly wasn’t alone. In fact, there are so many others just like me going through a similar journey. I took comfort in that, and I still do. Don’t be ashamed of your imperfections, they’re exactly what make you perfectly you. Stay mindfully happy, Giddy x

20.01.2022 The very makers of... me! Such a rare photo of my beautiful Mum & Dad. When lined up side by side, I can see Mum in me (our Filipino side with Spanish ancestry) & I can see Dad in me (our Australian side with Danish ancestry). I’ll always be proud of who I am and where I’ve come from I carry it all within me because of them. As Granny G once said to me, You’re my blood. I hope good things are passed on. Well I can confirm they have been passed on & the biggest thing... I cherish most is the loving heart I’ve been given, because even if at times my parents play the strong card around each other, they’re really just full of love like me. When you have two women with such strong, standout personalities, it’s pretty hard for their qualities not to rub off on you. And I’m damn proud they have! 12.01.2022 I’m not the kind of girl who has a lot of solid close girlfriends. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of pals, but not many who I feel completely relaxed around & feel as though I could share anything with without second guessing what I say. Having lived the gypsy life and moved around a lot over the years certainly doesn’t make the situation any easier... nor does my ambivert self. Not many people would know this but I’ve always felt as though I can never quite fit in; that I’...m not good enough or worth being heard. Pretty sure I can thank my anxiety for that. I’ve always envied girls who have a large group of gfs that they’ve known since they were little & share so much history with. I might not have this, but one thing is for sure... I’m bloody grateful when genuine souls like these two walk into my life and I sense an instant connection like we’ve somehow met in our past life. Now that’s magic right there. 10.01.2022 I hope you get to live the life you want to (truly) be living. Whether that’s surrounded by family; in a steady job you’re head over heels in love with; with a life partner that makes you happy; in a cosy home that makes you feel safe; actively involved in a fun social club, or whatever floats your boat & makes you feel your kind of centered. And if you’re not, that’s okay because life comes with glorious waves of ups & downs and you’ll never be alone here. The pretty speci...al thing I have to admit is that you & I we’ll always be lucky in life. And that’s because we have the power within ourselves to craft exactly the life that makes us happiest. So give yourself a little encouragement from time to time to start creating what your soul needs most in fact why not try it little by little, daily? We both know you deserve that extra love & support. It feels good to be backed by someone, but even better when that someone is you. A change in direction is in the air, can you feel it?
