22.01.2022 Did you know that one of my modalities is TFT (thought field therapy) you may be more aware of EFT (emotion freedom technique). What is it? It is tapping on Meridien points to help alleviate and ease distress. You measure your distress level, go through a tapping sequence to then rate your distress level. The objective is that the tapping shifts the energy that eliminates the emotion linked to it. Over coming weeks I will be offering videos with tapping sequences relating t...o anxiety/stress. The picture is a guide to show where some of the points are. When you have a sequence you can refer to it as a guide. Great thing with tapping, you cant get it wrong - and you will generally notice improvement after the first sequence.

19.01.2022 As a counsellor I am seeing a rise in anxiety. That can be disguised in anger. That can be coped by self harming, disordered eating, defiance. I work with adolescents, and what I am seeing and hearing is the tip of the iceberg. I am saddened by it and seeing the affect of the pandemic. This won’t go away in a hurry. Thankfully the Government recognises the severity of it. So there has been injection of funds to help. Unfortunately, this doesn’t ex...tend to qualified, registered counsellors. If you or someone you know has increased overwhelm, anxiety please also seek out counsellors for support - no referral is needed. Health fund rebates may be available. Cost is similar to out of pocket with a psychologist (my fees are $120 for 60mins). Collaborative practice happens upon consent (we can liaise with GP and other appropriate services). As we come out of the pandemic - it is impacting many of us, how are you coping? The ACA (Australian Counselling Association) has a register of counsellors in your state and area. Counselling can help, if you are worried about your mental health, or need things to change. Consider speaking to a counsellor. Take care of your well-being, and be well. 18.01.2022 Our dog turned 1 today.. as a mum I was pretty excited to be celebrating a milestone for a member of our family.... I was also disappointed in the lack of regard other family members (teens) had in helping. There were complaints about walking.. I found myself saddened that effort wasnt made... I know I have my values and love to make people feel special, especially on birthdays.. okay this is a canine member but I was really hoping that the unconditional regard the dog shows... us.. we can give back! 18.01.2022 So fist time of Covid restrictions saw us in uncertainty and adjustments into what it all meant. Including our behaviours and distancing. This time around it seems that although we arent entirely settled with the lockdown - alot of agitation, angst, uncertainty with anger toward the virus that is restricting our lives. Our lives that we had futures laid out or at least ideas of where we wanted to be. With perhaps some things now on hold, or postponed some of us might be fin...ding ourselves transitioning into new learnings or even just settling into slowing down as again we are being asked to not do things! So for those of you who took the uncertainty from the 1st round and allowed yourselves to adjust, feel and do - you may find yourself searching to achieve this time round. Use the energy and put it into that vision. Take the plunge and give it a go. Whether it be taking back control of your eating habits, to get back into a wellness space. Check in with people and ask how they are doing I have started a new course and although I swore I would not study again, or for a long time. I have decided to take the opportunity of the working from home and staying at home. It seems that what makes me feel good is to learn!! So Diploma of Clnincal Hypnotherapay and Applied Psychotherapy is what I have started. So if I need people to practice with, who would be willing to put their hand up - it would be remotely (of course) but would love to know who would be willing to help me out Take care of yourself. 13.01.2022 It starts tomorrow and the number of pushups is 135. As our team is at 13 (yippee)- we have decided to split it so each of us will need to do 22.5 pushups. The .5 will be interesting to hold!! Thanks for those who have registered under MindfullyU and for those who have also donated. The aim is to raise awareness of mental health in Australia, with the goal to reduce the numbers of lives lost to suicide by increasing awareness of mental ill-health in the community.... Headspace provides services to young Australians. By being a part of this challenge we are helping :)

12.01.2022 This is a great visual and quick reference to enable us to look at why we might be feeling the way we are. I particularly like the last one.....stress - might be telling me to take things one step at a time. Feelings are information, feedback that we also notice physically. Where and how do I feel stress, what do I notice in my body that tells me I am stressed? ... Once we acknowledge a feeling then be curious as to what it might be telling us, it gives us choice and control. When we have choice and control, our mind and body are aligning, which also means we begin to feel different and better. Happy Saturday, what are you feeling that might be something else? Check in.

07.01.2022 I smile everytime I take the lead off Milo. Watching him realise the moment he is free and dashing off in circles sniffing furiously. Freedom - I was reminded of how currently we arent quite as free as usual. We are limited to what we can do. So, this morning although I was masked, and limited to one hour of outside exercise. I looked out to the view and felt free. And seeing Milo run and explore gave him his freedom moments. ... How we see things can help us feel better. Now is the time to reflect, and to enjoy the simple things. I am fortunate that my 5k radius allows a good beach walk - it could also be swum in (but thats not happening for me ). I am excited to say that an experienced personal trainer Healthier You Fitness Jackie and myself will be getting together each month to talk about stuff that matter to you. Together with Jackies training and mindset expertise and my counselling thoughts -we are hoping to be able to offer to you tips, techniques, revelations and encouragement in doing things better/differently because you realise that things need to change. If it is to be it is up to me -this is a phrase that has been with me for the last 10 years. The more clients I see and friends I speak with, it is always so true that for things to be different or better, it is up to you. With that becomes the tools to be your own coach. Today I started with online gym workout and walking the dog on the beach to see It made me smile and stop and admire the birds circling above and the odd fin above water.... feeling amazing and this only reminds me how things change - yesterday I was a little frustrated in the morning, and today I am serene and grateful. ...
