24.01.2022 Share this Mindful Monkey Moment with your child! B a l l o o n B r e a t h i n g Sit comfortably, with your hands around your mouth as if you were about to blow up a balloon.... Take a deep breath in through your nose and as you slowly breath out, start to spread your hands out as if you are blowing up a great big balloon. Hold your hand position as you inhale again and then spread your hands further as you exhale. Once your balloon is as big as it can be, gently sway from side to side as you release your balloon up into the sky. When you model connecting with the power of conscious breathing and en...courage your students and children to explore it for themselves, you give them a way to cultivate their own inner wisdom and strength. Try F l o w e r B r e a t h Choose a comfortable sitting or standing position. Close your eyes and listen to the sound of your breath. . Imagine you are holding your favourite flower. Imagine the colour and smell of the flower. Then take a deep breath, pretending to smell that flower. Then exhale and pretend to blow the flower petals, letting go of any tension. . Repeat this cycle of a strong inhale and a gentle exhale for a couple of minutes. . This is a simple way to help kids become aware of their breath and explore how it makes them feel.

07.01.2022 Mindful Monkey Moments in May how can we teach KINDNESS to ourselves, our children and others? LOVING KINDNESS BREATH Stand or sit comfortably. Close your eyes and listen to the sound of your breath.... Take a deep breath in, then slowly breath out for five seconds. On your next inhale, think of filling yourself with love. Imagine the colour red enveloping your body. On your next exhale, think of sending love and kindness to someone close to you. Then on your next out breath, send loving kindness to someone you are having a difficult relationship with at the moment. Then send love and kindness out to the world around you: the animals, the trees, your neighbours, and your city. Lastly, send out love and kindness to the world. Finish your loving kindness breath by coming back to your breathing naturally. When you are ready, open your eyes. Do you see all the love around you? You created it! Use this LOVING KINDNESS BREATH whenever you need to slow down to express more KINDNESS to yourself and those around you.
