12.01.2022 Do you ever just stop what you’re doing, and pause.. to look around you and take it all in.. to look within you and observe your thoughts?? ...or does each and every moment need to be filled with something, a distraction .... Its as though we are afraid of 'doing nothing' or intolerant of boredom - which social media offers us an easy way out of; We mindlessly scroll, our brain bouncing all over the place from one thought to the next, getting constant hits of dopamine, all under an illusion that we are ‘connected’. Instead of connection though, we feel inadequacy, jealousy and competitiveness, fuelled by countless images and voices telling us what we need, and who or what or where we should be. Sometimes, amidst all this noise, we can lose sight of the real 'us'. . . You should know then, that it is possible to recognise the difference between outside noise and our own inner voice, and so, to stay true to ourselves, our beliefs and our values. How ~ Each day, take at least a few moments separate from your devices to tune out the opinions, expectations and obligations of the world around you. ~ Pause, take a deep breath, look around you and notice what's there. (Truly noticing what’s around us keeps our brains from shifting to autopilot) ~ Now, take a deep breath, shift your focus to look within you and observe what's going on, where your thoughts are. Also notice what tugs at your energy and attention. Don’t run away from what you find. It can be uncomfortable and is certainly challenging if we have unresolved issues, but don’t worry! Remind yourself that you are not your thoughts or feelings. You are simply observing them. ~ Imagine your thoughts as clouds floating by in the sky - Acknowledge and accept whatever comes up and be with it for as long as it stays. When it goes, notice it move along, and watch the next thing come up. . . You are the sky. Everything else - it’s just the weather - Pema Chödrön.

09.01.2022 JOYFUL MOVEMENT I’m not a ‘New Years resolution’ kind-of person. I don’t really believe the new year has anything to offer that’s different to what each day has to offer us. Every day we make choices about who we will be and how we will be that, what will we do, when and where. Every day we choose the direction we move in life through our actions which build on the person we become. And our habits reinforce this identity. Since we make these choices, we can also choose d...Continue reading

08.01.2022 Officially a bee keeper now Whaaat *I hear you say* Why bees Because bees are pretty much the most important insects for us humans. Our food system depends on bees for pollination. Pollination creates the plants we eat and the plants that our livestock eat. Pollination also creates food and homes for many other animals. So, the existence of bees is essential to preserve our planet’s natural ecological balance and biodiversity. .... Without bees, many of the plants that provide us with essential micronutrients will no longer exist. Without bees, the food security and health of humans will be endangered. Without bees, many other animals will lose their homes and food sources. Unfortunately bee populations are in danger. Depletion of natural forests and other habitats, exposure to pesticides, and the effects of climate change are all responsible. . Becoming a beekeeper is just one way we can save the bees. But there are many other ways we can become involved. Here are just five; 1Stop spraying pesticides in your gardens - Companion planting is a great alternative to keep garden pests away. 2 Plant wildflowers, native plants and trees - feed the bees 3 Don’t break ya back weeding - never mind what your neighbours think ;P Weeds feed the bees. 4 Only source local honey - Please support local beekeepers and support the beekeeping industry. Remember that many store-bought honeys are not 100% honey, they are diluted with cheap sugar. We are the consumers, we always have a choice and our choices do make a difference. 5 Protect our environment - This is a big one and there are many ways we can do this. Ima let you do the thinking :) .. I am so excited for this journey. Thank you for reading and sharing! #savethebees
