We will look at cultivating different expressions of love, and working with what gets in the way. This path of awakening leads us towards the wisdom of how to more fully inhabit our lives and how to belong and claim our rightful place in the world. As our understanding of what gets in the way of connection, compassion, joy and relaxed ease deepens, we naturally learn how to care for our whole selves, and how to live life with wiser heart. 14.01.2022 Happy Spring and Autumn everyone! Freshly returned from retreat and looking forward to gathering tonight for our regular drop in at 7:30PM AEST. Check in the event listing for the Zoom link. I love to watch the cycle of the seasons progress each year. As Winter makes its great transition to Spring, it can be easy to want to lean forward into "whats next." Its natural. Spring is full of so much beauty, sunnier skies, warmer temperatures. Those qualities of Spring, though, ...rely on Winter to create the conditions for their flourishing. It can be like that in our lives, too. It can be easy to get so excited for or caught up in what comes next. In a flash the mind can carry us away with thoughts and fantasies promising that those will be better than what we have right here and now. Cultivating a practice of meditation - of slowing down and paying attention to our present-moment experience in a direct, immediate way - offers a way to open to the beauty of our lives right here and right now. While it may seem counter intuitive at first, the basic practice of attending to our breath or body sensations or thoughts, or whatever we experience, is the basic practice for being able to engage in our lives in a fearless and open-hearted way. Once our hearts find courage and open to the fullness of experience, as Spring surely follows Winter they can fill with peace, wisdom, and freedom. May we all find freedom

06.01.2022 As some of you already know, theres also a Tuesday evening (Eastern Australian time) mindfulness drop in. All are welcome. Its a weekly time to pause and pay a deeper visit to yourself. Each session will include: - 10-15 min to discuss and explain an aspect of meditating;... - 15-25 min guided meditation; and - time for questions and connecting :) Dont hesitate to be in touch for a link to the Zoom meeting or to ask questions.

02.01.2022 Looking forward to welcoming everyone to the drop in session tonight. Tonight well continue the focus on heart-centred practice of cultivating generosity, kindness, and friendliness. These qualities can serve as a powerful catalyst for positive transformation and freedom. As we cultivate these qualities we learn to let go of the subtle aggressions against ourselves, to befriend who we are more and more. While it may first seem counter intuitive, as we connect with the wisdo...m of our boundless heart and mind, we find it easier to become less of a social mirror, less at risk of simply "going with the crowd," and freer to live our principles and conscience. 01.01.2022 I know some of you watching this page and many of you taking the Introduction Course right now are having a go at establishing a regular, perhaps daily, meditation practice. Daily practice has many benefits. Perhaps you already see some of these for yourself. For instance, it becomes easier to see what is really happening in the psychophysical being that we all are, especially on a moment-by-moment basis. Another particularly important benefit comes with greater clarity aroun...d the larger patterns of our lives. Practicing every day, and seeing more clearly our internal reality and building a relationship with it enables and supports this clarity. Its like seeing the "top hits" or "big themes" that can often escape us. Its not that meditation is "making" anything happen, its just revealing what is often hidden beneath surface of our day-to-day. This can allow for a radical self-respect. Much of what stays out of our conscious awareness is difficult and challenging. Daily practices begins to show us whats there and enables us to see how we can approach those larger themes or stories with wisdom, kindness, and compassion. Other things are truly joyous. If we didnt get a clearer view of them through regular practice, we may not fully appreciate them or maybe even would miss them altogether. This clear(er) recognition allows us to fully engage with our joy - to see and cultivate joy. Its a great way to respect and appreciate the fullness of living this human life. As you reflect on your intentions and motivations for meditating, and meditating regularly, I hope you find these thoughts supportive and inspiring.
