02.01.2022 DEEPENING MINDFULNESS NATURE RETREAT with Anja Tanhane 5-8 March, Labour Day long weekend A three-day mindfulness retreat in a peaceful bushland setting can all...ow us to really deepen our experience of mindfulness, of simply being present. The retreat is suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators, and will include guided mindfulness meditations, Tai Chi, nature walks, as well as periods of silence and of quiet reflection. The gentle flowing movements of Tai Chi can allow us to settle into our bodies, calm the mind and release tensions. We feel more connected to our bodies and the natural environment around us. Periods of guided meditations throughout the day assist us to be present to ourselves and to the world around us. This is a meditation retreat that puts nature at the centre of the program. Much of the time is spent outdoors, in the forest, under the sky. With silent bushwalking and innovative approaches to meditation, we will deepen our awareness of the land, trees, rocks, plants, birds and animals, using all our senses, and intuition, to engage with them on energetic, spiritual and physical levels. Two of the mornings of this retreat feature a long guided forest walk, which take us into the heart of the native forests surrounding Clearview Retreat, allowing us to experience the powerful energy of the trees, the ancient granite rocks, and the unique ecology of this rich natural community. Meditation techniques will enable us to gain greater intimate awareness of the forest world, and connect more deeply with living creatures. We will learn skills to increase the sense of wholeness and connection in our lives, to be recharged, and to harmonise our daily life and our communities with the needs of the natural world. Participants will learn about the principles of mindfulness and how these can be applied in our daily lives, and the weekend will offer some group discussions as well as the option of one-to-one interviews with the teacher. The focus of the weekend will be the experiential learning which comes through moment-by-moment presence, and participants will be guided and supported throughout in cultivating greater mindfulness in their lives.
