22.01.2022 As Annie Dillard says, How we spend our days is how we spend our lives. I would go further to say that how we live our moments defines how we spend our days ...and how we spend our days is how we spend our lives. To live a full, rich and meaningful life we need to be here for it. We need to be present for our moments instead of always habitually trying to get somewhere else or something more. We need to learn to truly connect with our moments, our loved ones, with ourselves and our lives. This is why practising mindfulness meditation is the most important thing I do every day. I train my mind to be present so I can live my life fully, peacefully, lovingly, bravely and authentically (as best I can). Why do you practice mindfulness? #presence #mindfulliving #selfawareness #mindfulmoments #quote

20.01.2022 Once I was very much in love with a woman. I was telling my Indian father, Mr. Tewari, about it and he was listening very patiently. When I finished he said, '...'My boy, relationships are business. Do your business. Enjoy your business. But love is what lasts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Real love is who we are; it’s not between people. It’s not affection, it’s not caring, not attachment. It’s actually who we are. It’s our true nature." See more

19.01.2022 What does it mean to wake up? It means to leave the ego centric state we are conditioned to exist in. Our ego is our self identity. It’s the steady stream of ...thoughts that we believe to be true. These ego stories are not our own. They are the internalized voices of others. Voices we inherited and without awareness believe are us. This is an unconscious state of existing that brings consistent suffering. As our level of consciousness (awareness) raises, we are able to think about our own thoughts. This ability is what makes us uniquely human. We can objectively view our ego stories. We can view what activates our ego by going within rather than projecting when we are defensive. With more and more conscious awareness, the space is created to leave our habit reactions. Habit reactions are coping mechanisms we’ve had since childhood. They can include yelling, silent treatment. deflection, blame etc. If you begin to objectively observe adult behavior, much of it looks similar to the behavior of children. These are called age regressions. We all have these triggered moments. These ego protections so we do not need to feel our own pain + resolve our past. With more and more practice, with more and more acceptance of the ego as something separate from who we truly are, the ego softens. It becomes validated just by us consistently viewing it without trying to change it. In this space we heal self betrayal + begin to trust ourselves. We show up in the world with empathy and grace because we too have been sleepwalking. We too, have lived the illusion. In this space we have the most powerful tool a human begin can posses: CHOICE #selfhealers

15.01.2022 Mary Oliver might say it more eloquently but Leunig nails it too with a bit of good old Aussie humour! Either way, earth is pretty special! Oh, and I'm away with the pixies today...how about you?!

15.01.2022 When we start to open up and think of meditation not simply as being in a safe place but as an approach to life itself, it gets very interesting, doesn’t it? W...e begin to come out of resistance to experience. And when we start to come out of resistance to experience, we start to discover something that is very potent and very powerful. We begin to discover the most essential thing, which is the truth of our being. We begin to discover that our essential nature as consciousness is always allowing everything to be as it is. That’s why we meditate in this way, because that’s what consciousness is already doingit’s allowing everything to be as it is. Consciousness itself is not in resistance. Consciousness is not in opposition to what is. Have you noticed? Consciousness, or your true nature, is allowing everything to be as it is. ~ Adyashanti True Meditation http://bit.ly/307s1ZS

14.01.2022 Can’t recommend this new book by my teacher Hanuman Das highly enough. It helps fill a very important gap in spirituality specifically for the western man. Its highly relatable having been written by someone who has actually done the work necessary for transformation.

13.01.2022 All my searching was to find peace, peaceful people, peaceful places, peaceful circumstances, peaceful times. Now i know it doesn’t exist outside of me. I have to see the non peace emerging from within and actively choose to transform it into the peace I seek. It’s only taken me 20 years to truly understand this, now the real work begins

10.01.2022 So relate to this

09.01.2022 A group of alumni, who were very successful in their careers, decided to get together to visit their old university professor. After they all reunited, the conv...ersation of the alumni soon turned into complaints about work, relationships and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all of his old students had a cup of coffee in hand, they sat down together and the professor said: If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is, of course, normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that can also be the source of much of your dissatisfaction, problems, and stress. It’s important to know that the cup itself adds no real quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just chosen because it’s perceived to be more special or expensive. What all of you really wanted was the experience of the coffee, not the cup, but you unconsciously went for the best cups. Some of you tried to get the best cup first or began eyeing each other’s cups to see if yours was nice enough. Now consider this: Life is a bit like the cup of coffee; the jobs, money possessions and position in society are the cups. They are just tools and structures that contain or hold together the current story of your life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee. Here is my advice to you Savour the coffee, not the cups! What you really want is to be happy and the happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They make the best of everything. #perception #happiness

02.01.2022 <3 "What in your case occupies the entire field of consciousness, is a mere speck in mine. The world lasts, but for a moment. It is your memory that makes you think that the world continues."
