25.01.2022 The poetry keeps coming! Poem 6 of 14 for the "14 poems for 14 days of getting better". I'm rocking a waist-coat and hippy-pendant in this one, and there is plenty of bird song if you get sick of listening to me. This poem is about how I gained a powerful experience of impermance by moving house five times in one bloody year. I also lost a little black cat I was quite fond of who went and died on me. The message is, of course, is not to get hung up the moment because it will all change soon anyway. In the meantime, enjoy the words and stay mentally positive and virus negative :-)
24.01.2022 There will be no poetry videos for a while until my laptop is fixed. I'll finish posting the '14 poems for 14 days of getting better' as soon as I can. Check out the mindfulness poet website to view the videos listed so far.
24.01.2022 We were planning a St Patrick's Day theme for this month, and then everyone went and cancelled all the parades! So we're joining in and having a Coronavirus special instead, promoting good health by way of laughter, imagination and play. Free tissue with entry! On a serious note, we'll be asking everyone who comes to avoid body contact with any other guests. We'll be following health guidelines, and if you are coughing and sneezing lots please stay in bed and keep warm. Thursday March 19. Doors open at 6pm, start at 6.30pm and finish at 8.30pm. $10/$5 entry.
24.01.2022 Poem #5 in the '14 poems for 14 days of getting better'. Tales of the Rainbow Gnome is all about seeing our hassles as the same struggles of life that our heroes faced and endured. Social distancing and isolation are just one more obstacle we tell stories to ourselves to overcome.
23.01.2022 A Tumblr screen shot someone else posted that is... a little bit of wisdom. I am a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever loved, even for a heart beat.
23.01.2022 So I'm waiting for my laptop to come home from hospital. I found an old project on my old laptop to while away the time while I wait. Behold! A video for Cyberprov, my improv teacher's online improv classes. I've been doing them for a few weeks now and they are good fun. Check out the website at the end of the video if you want to know more. #improv #cyberprov #howdohastagswork

20.01.2022 I'm putting out a package of poems called '14 poems for 14 days of getting better'. It's is my little gift for anyone suffering due to the Corona virus pandemic. When I heard about people having to be isolated for 14 days I wondered what I could do to help the situation? I decided to record 14 videos, with me chatting and then reciting one of my original poems in each one. I will release them every 2 or 3 days. I hope this will give a little light relief for anyone who needs it.

18.01.2022 The Mindfulness Poet looking very dapper at our recent Valentines Improv Cafe on the third Thursday of the month at the Black Box Theatre in Nambour.
17.01.2022 '14 Poems in 14 days' makes it to poem #4: Guru Blues. When I was a Buddhist monk I had a Guru. I thought I was getting a spiritual Santa Claus who would give me lots of happiness and get rid of all that pesky suffering. But Guru's don't work like that, or mine doesn't anyway.
17.01.2022 This Thursday the 20th February is Improv Cafe's Valentine Day extravaganza! Complete with a special performance from a recent workshop and probably a sing-along! The Black Box in William Street, Nambour: doors open at 6, come to play or just watch!
17.01.2022 Improv Café cancelled tomorrow! Hope to be back in April. Stay well.
14.01.2022 I made a song! It's a Tom Waits style growl about a drunk angel who is stuck on earth. Not bad for someone who can't sing or play an instrument! Enjoy!
14.01.2022 Here’s a great explanation from Lindsay about her workshop Musicprov 1. And two of her brave students. Mark Kelman and Charlotte Georgia Just a small example of awesome bravery and side splitting entertainment at Improv Cafe
13.01.2022 Warm Hand! Second chat and poem for my project '14 poems for 14 days of getting better'. A touching story of uninsulated bush shacks, black cockatoos and the gratitude of an imaginary old man. Hope you enjoy! Constructive feedback welcome, and this poet gets all gooey when you share his posts :-)
13.01.2022 Shazza the Improv Psychic at our first Improv Cafe in 2020! What strange characters will we find on February 20 for our Valentines themed show? Come and find out on the third Thursday of the month at the Black Box Theatre Nambour 6.30pm.
13.01.2022 Third poem for the '14poems' project. This one is about feet, India and the non-verbal experience of love.
12.01.2022 Improv Cafe this Thursday January 16 will feature lots of great improv such as this classic "Sing about it!" We're at the Black Box Theatre in Nambour and the show starts at 6.30pm.
12.01.2022 Our Valentines Improv Cafe was hilarious. Miss Adventure became Miss Understanding as we took a journey of the heart. From joy to the deepest misery it was all grist for the laughter machine that is Improv! Lindsay Drummond’s Musicprov students were truly courageous and inspiring! Next month is a Paddy’s Day Theme so wear green and join us on Thursday 19 March.
09.01.2022 In my ongoing evolution as an artist I decided to wear a waistcoat in this video. I am also waxing lyrical about using your imagination to make your days of isolation a rewarding one. Creativity is as close to magic as most of us get, and when we're going through difficult times we need something magical to remind us why all this is worth it. We need to be a magician.
02.01.2022 A poem for anyone cooped up with Coronavirus Cabin Fever! The first of fourteen, a thrilling tale of fear, adventure and memory loss.
