23.01.2022 The 2020 St Andrew’s Mind Lab tournament was held on Monday and Tuesday this week. Students from Years 4-7 faced off against each other in the games of Abalone,... Quorridor, Octi and Olympic Checkers. The critical thinking instruction of the classroom Mind Lab program prepared students to do their best. There were some tight finishes and all games were played with fairness, persistence and sincerity. The first photo features our winners and runners up in each of the aforementioned games, each of whom will represent St Andrew’s at the Australian Competition later in the year. Well done!

22.01.2022 Our Years 4 and 5 students have been very excited about competing in the Accelium Olympics! Accelium is a digital extension of the Mind Lab program that childr...en complete during the Middle Years, and provides a platform for the children to apply their critical thinking skills. The Olympics is made up of a series of challenges in the form of game-based scenarios that students must ‘solve’ as efficiently as possible. The scores of all the children at St Andrew’s are combined and set against schools from around the world. The artificial intelligence opponents are certainly giving our students a challenge and are a timely complement to the St Andrew’s Mind Lab Tournament being held next week.
