23.01.2022 Well said! This is my partner Sean, taking our daughters kindy group through a little workout for occupation week. To add to this, owning a gym makes exercise a big focus in our family. I know first hand that your relationship with exercise can take many forms, non existant, avoidant, punishing, excessive, or balanced and healthy. It is important to recognise what your relationship is and how that may be portrayed to your children. ... Consider, what is your motive? For me? My girls know that mummy goes to the gym so she can "play with her friends". And thats not a lie! The gym for me is a place to de-stress, socialise, build strength and functionality, so I can continue to play with my friends for a long time to come! And if you haven't found your healthy relationship with exercise yet then keep searching and don't be afraid to search outside the box. Think group training, dancing, paddle boarding, team sports, spending time in nature, rock climbing, ice skating etc. There are a million ways to move your body!

23.01.2022 "None of these things are true and yet so much happiness in life is dictated by these lies" How many of these lies are ingrained in your beliefs about your body? Consider, how might it feel to liberate yourself from these beliefs and try a new approach?... I'm back, Nov 5! Can't wait to see you all again.

22.01.2022 To the woman on the street, I’m sorry. I let you down. Someone made a comment about a fat *** and when you heard it, you spun around so fast, it was as if someone had called your name. No one else noticed. But I did. I saw you and I see the bullshit you put up with every day. I see that you live in a world that stigmatises weight. I see the way diet culture poisons our attitudes about appearance from the day we’re born.... I see that you face daily discrimination for nothing more than your shape or size. I see that people in thin bodies often fail to see their privilege. I see that you are made to feel inferior. I see that the very people who want to ‘help’ you are sometimes the ones that make you feel the worst. I see that our culture assumes that you are 100% responsible for your body. I see that the expectations placed on the human body is unachievable for the vast majority of the population. I see that you are influenced to shrink yourself and take up less space when you deserve to grow and be seen. But mostly I see that if anything is going to change, I need to have the courage to use my voice. I want to be a part of the solution, not the problem and that means having uncomfortable conversations that challenge our beliefs around health, size and equality. So here I am, saying it aloud. Vadiveloo and Mattei, (2017) reported that weight discrimination has a larger impact on long term health than the weight itself. I want you to let that sink in. The way we treat others based on appearance, has the potential to make them sicker than the way we treat our bodies. Is this what you want for your mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, children? For yourself? Because one day, if not already, we will no longer fit society’s approved mould and it will be at this point that we wished we’d all worked towards a kinder tomorrow. Danadrewdles

22.01.2022 Same kid. Saaaaaame.

21.01.2022 I love this!! And some great resources to use with your girls around body image.

12.01.2022 As you all know, I believe taking care of our mental health is a top priority for all. In this current climate, it is more important than ever to have access to resources such as the Black Dog Institute and funds for research to support evidence-based treatments. You never know when you or a loved one may need these services. So I encourage you to take the challenge yourself or if possible donate what you can to my efforts. Every cent is greatly appreciated :)... Looks like my girls will be enjoying the extra walks to the park throughout Oct!!

11.01.2022 Yes, yes and yes.
