24.01.2022 Many years ago I ran a program called Transform when I was based at what was then Coastlands Gym in Helensburgh. Some of the participants came and did a triathlon with Engadine Tri Club. That was in the days we could of course race!

20.01.2022 Do you know what makes you feel worse and what makes you feel better? I know eating dairy, missing my workouts and spending too long on social media, or doing anything on my phone for that matter makes me feel worse. I feel better when I eat 3 meals a day and only 1 snack, when I exercise outdoors, when I visit beautiful places in nature, when I spend time with my family and friends and when I am organised. Being aware of these things helps me spend more time on the things that make me feel my best.

13.01.2022 We say we are busy, always feeling rushed, stressed and overwhelmed. We’re just kinda used to living with a chronic level of stress. Stress is a problem for our health, body composition, wellbeing, learning and relationships. It affects all aspects of our lives and stops us from making good choices. Take a deep breath then pull the rib cage down onto the stomach and exhale every last bit of air. Keep those rib down as you slowly reverse the breath and inhale again. Repeat for a few minutes and feel your body relax.

09.01.2022 Resistant starch behaves a bit like fibre and has lots of health benefits. It’s resistant because it can’t be fully broken down or absorbed- but our intestinal bacteria love it! They turn it into short-chain fatty acids which among other things results in better blood sugar control. Resistant starch is produced when certain foods are cooked then cooled, such as potatoes, pasta, sushi rice or cooked oats. So don’t ditch the humble potato just yet!
