25.01.2022 New Mum Haddie has been leaving her calf with her big sister Hush quite a lot of late. I could be wrong, but it looks like Haddie just might be apologising to her Mum Hope for being such a little rotter when she was a calf.

25.01.2022 These two! Tussle, tussle. tussle. Poor Hush rarely gets a minute to herself let alone any peace and quiet. Check out the clover.

23.01.2022 Sshhh... you have to be very quiet ... and calm. It took a little while but Eleanor worked out what she needed to do. Gently, slowly, quiet as a mouse she sidled up to our baby heifer. Both little girls enjoyed a lovely time in the Winter sun.

23.01.2022 Sounds like me.

23.01.2022 Enjoying adoption visitors last weekend.

21.01.2022 Please Share- your help in getting trees planted after the fires is needed! BlazeAids Trillions of Paddock trees’ ( with the unique rabbit and sheep guard syst...em) is now launched with the first planting this morning. It is right beside the first blazeaid fence post erected two days after Black Saturday 9/2/2009 at 1030 Nannys Crk Rd Kilmore East. It is near the burnt to the ground jack hurst’s woolshed and shepherd’s hut nearby ( now gone) Each tree like this one - Black Wattle Acacia Mearnsii- will be logged into a national data base to recognise the work of tree loving volunteers planting and guarding- with exact location so we can all see where trees have been planted. Our first big tree planting base is planned for BlazeAid base at Jingellic NSW with Natalee Trigwell Coordinating on Peter and Mary Hoodless’ fire impacted farm at Jingellic Meanwhile, I am asking if there are any local mask wearing keen tree planters from non COVID hot spots ( not melb at this stage please) who would like to plant and guard a few here at kilmore East (and hopefully to train those going to Jingelic to plant trees there in two weeks ) to call me now on 0418530471 You need only spend an hour or two planting at your chosen time any day - just call before and I will have the trees ready. Paddock trees are a dying race - we have squillions along the roadsides unmanaged for fire fuel but the paddocks are often bare with no shelter for stock or refuge for our native birds and animals against cats and foxes! Children are more than welcome as they and tree planting are our future. ( Note the guards are to be reused once the tree grows out and is independent. You need: gloves eye protection sharp pair of scissors to cut the mulching repurposed wool pack to stop weeds smart phone time log in details of your tree planting efforts That fence post was the beginning of trillions in blazeaid way back 11 years ago in 2009 and I am hoping that we will do the same with BlazeAid’s Trillions of Paddock trees Give it a crack, why don’t you! Kevin Butler BlazeAid Pres Kilmore East 24/8/2020

21.01.2022 Some visitors took some great drone footage of the herd for us.

20.01.2022 I have been zapped by our electric fence this week - I can see why the cows avoid it.

20.01.2022 Looking this gorgeous can be a little exhausting - Haddie.

19.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day Cuddles. Our herd leader, the grand matriarch, and the all 'round, most magnificent cow. Cuddles is mother to Snuggles and Hope, grandmother to Hush and Haddie, and great grandmother Jujube and Storm Chaser, and great-great-grandmother to Jubilee - all still in our herd today. There are a great many other relatives living fabulous lives elsewhere.

18.01.2022 Good to see these two little fellows bonding. Rowdy and Reggie. Rowdy's Mum Hush does give Reggie extra milk - that helps!

17.01.2022 "What took you so long?!" When Jaffa got herself into a jam her friends stuck by her side and of course her Mum is here too.

16.01.2022 Late afternoon calf tussle.

16.01.2022 Make no mistake - she is the boss. Jubilee has the boys in her thrall. They follow her everywhere.

15.01.2022 A rather long but interesting read. I'm not advocating one thing or the other. It is just interesting information.

14.01.2022 Storm Chaser, being the only little bull in the paddock is exhausting. He is often torn between whether to sleep, go to Mum for a drink, play with his friends or jump on one of his friends!

14.01.2022 A good laugh to start your weekend.

14.01.2022 I thought I'd caught little mister napping with the zoom lens - until he stuck his tongue out at me!

14.01.2022 Wombat holes are so much fun! Reggie and Rowdy are so pleased with themselves - they led the whole calf crew under the fence, through the wombat diggings and to the other side.

13.01.2022 Cold enough to make your hair stand on end. Lulu is lapping up the cold change - we have wind off the snow down south and 5 degrees in the paddocks.

13.01.2022 Make no mistake - she's the boss! Little Jubilee has those boys in her thrall. They follow her everywhere.

13.01.2022 Rowdy is actively ignoring him. Reggie wants to be friends, but Rowdy is happy either sitting by himself or hanging out with Jaffa.

11.01.2022 Here she is, Gold Creek Jubilee - Jaffa to her friends. She is trying very hard not to look so serious all the time - almost there. Thanks for the great name ideas, everyone.

11.01.2022 'He's got the look.' Storm Chaser, we couldn't ask for a more solid, sweet-natured, little bull (5 months old).''

11.01.2022 What a year - Sept 2019 - Sept 2020... snow, drought, bushfires, floods, pandemic and damaging winds! Just looking at these three little faces, up to their knees in clover, makes it all fade into background noise.

10.01.2022 I used to call Haddie 'Haddie the Handful'. Now it would appear that Haddie has her 'hands full' - except she doesn't have hands!

09.01.2022 We had a young artist here today and she gave me this amazing artwork of Tully. I think she has captured Tully's sweet little personality perfectly - don't you?

09.01.2022 Jujube wasn't so sure about motherhood in the beginning. Now she loves her beautiful little baby girl like there is no tomorrow.

07.01.2022 Two of our very handsome, very happy boys down in their fantastic new home in Boydtown at the Beach Holiday Park.

07.01.2022 Yes, these two can still be found whispering sweet nothings to each other. Tully and Storm Chaser share such a strong bond, it is beautiful to watch.

06.01.2022 "I think my Mumma is over there somewhere!" Little Storm Chaser is in with the big bulls. Our boys mature at a very young age so we've had to separate him from our two little heifers.

06.01.2022 ...and now we are mowing tracks in the paddocks so we can find the calves. Jubilee loves the camera.

05.01.2022 Another sweet little face - Jaffa staring me down. Blowing milk bubbles but giving me teenage attitude all the same.

03.01.2022 "Excuse me, can I cuddle your baby please?" Such beautiful manners.

01.01.2022 "Really? What happened next?" Ariarna is asking all the right questions! Hush is concentrating hard on an answer.

01.01.2022 Guess what Storm Chaser has spotted in the paddock next door? Yes, a little cow. One year old and he is already keen to work.

01.01.2022 Such a sweet, sweet little face - the camera loves Rowdy.

01.01.2022 Haddie is giving Reggie a good 'tongue lashing'. Her udder is as tight as a drum and he has been running off getting his milk elsewhere.
