19.01.2022 Hi everyone, I’m Amy, the Lead Educator of the Toddler 1 Room at the magnificent Mini B’s. I am currently studying towards my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, with plans in the near future to complete my Early Childhood Teaching Degree. It is my belief that every child has the right to feel safe and secure whilst in my care. It is of utmost importance that they are provided with a safe environment where they can play, develop, and build a sense of identity. I ...believe that children always need to be seen as individuals and know that they are important and unique. My own philosophy is closely related to the Montessori approach, it's all about empowering children and learning through child-led activities and through play. I believe that this provides them with the ability to learn and develop whilst having fun. Interacting with other children provides them with a sense of belonging and confidence that supports growth and development. I truly do love being a part of the team at Mini B’s!

19.01.2022 Wondering what our babies have been up to? Teacher Beth has been introducing our babies to the wonderful world of colours! They also used their fingers to draw shapes and identify letters. ... Babies love to be involved in activities that are new and exciting, activities that allow them to further their developmental skills while having fun! Teacher Beth has certainly 'ticked' all the boxes this week!

18.01.2022 There's always lots of fun to be had here at Mini B's! Our Vacation Care kids have been enjoying themselves indoors, in our indoor 'outdoor' area, where there is ample space for them to run and play, even when it's too hot to head outdoors. ... . . . #daycare #education #earlylearning #motherhood #fatherhood #family #love #childhood #kindergarten #perthlife #perthmums #perthdad #perthkidz #perthkids #minibambiniearlylearning #perthkindy #daycareprovider #daycarelife #daycarecenter #daycarekids #learning #learnandplay #learnthroughplay #growth #growtogether #growwithus #australia #westernaustralia #culture #christian See more

17.01.2022 Last week our Toddler 2s got super messy for one of our most favourite weeks of the year - Science Week! One of the activities our budding scientists got to take part in was the creation of goop. They were absolutely fascinated by the textural magic of it, and they were especially interested in the way that it went from hard to soft just by being touched. They also had lots of fun creating a volcano and watching what happened when we combined baking soda and vinegar - talk a...bout AMAZING! But the crowd favourite of the week was our "milk dancing" science activity - a relatively easy experiment that you can replicate at home! All you need is some milk, food colouring and dishwashing liquid. First, we poured the milk into a clear tray (we all made sure to surround the tray so we all had a good view!) Then we took turns picking different coloured food colouring and dropping it into the milk. Next, we used our fine motor skills and liquid droppers to drop dishwashing liquid onto the food colouring. This made the food colouring split from itself, creating a "dancing" effect in the milk. We love incorporating science into our curriculum as it assists children with play. It helps them to question, explore, develop their creativity and problem-solving skills. It also helps them develop other skills like literacy and numeracy. Thats why it is woven into the outcomes for children under the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) eg. children are confident and involved learners (Outcome 4).

16.01.2022 Whats better than getting to read books with our best friends? Getting dressed up as our favourite storybook characters to celebrate all of our favourite books, with our best friends! We especially loved seeing our educators as the Tellytubbies and 101 Dalmatians!

We even got to enjoy a delicious picnic in the garden thanks to our wonderful cook, Vanessa! Thank you for organise all of the yummy food for us! ...

15.01.2022 What have our Baby Tots been up to over the past few weeks? Well, theyve been busy practicing their fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and developing their concentration skills through a variety of stimulating sensory activities. What is sensory play? ... Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates a young childs senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing, as well as anything which engages movement and balance. This kind of play is a vital part of early childhood development as it provides children with the opportunities to actively use their senses as they explore their world, which is crucial for brain development.

15.01.2022 Mini Bambini Early Learning Centre is proud to have supported Red Nose Day 2020 - Helping to raise much-needed funds and awareness for little lives and grief-stricken families. In Australia, nine children still die suddenly and unexpectedly every day.... Thats more than 3,000 babies, toddlers and preschoolers every year more than double the national road toll. Supporting this organisation means a lot to our Mini B family.

13.01.2022 Hello everybody, my name is Cary Rowsell and I am the Kindy teacher here at Mini Bambini. My approach to teaching is relatively simple and effective. I strive to be the kind, gentle, and nurturing educator who takes the time to get to know each child on a personal level. I enjoying teaching in a play-based manner and work towards fostering children’s imaginations by providing them with open-ended materials. I love... working with a child’s strengths and seeing them thrive with confidence when teaching what they know to others. Learning from each other is a great way to promote self-esteem, friendships and confidence in a child’s learning. I aim to provide the Kindy kids with fun, spontaneous activities yet a structured morning routine to teach the fundamentals of numbers, letters, days of the week, colours, etc. Our Kindy kid program also has a strong focus on school readiness, where we learn basic skills like sitting on the mat and listening when others are speaking. I look forward to meeting your little ones and working together with your families to ensure that they receive the best start to their education.

Thats why this week weve been learning all about Our Community and the importance of everyone who is a part of it. Its been so much fun!

12.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. Today, on 11 November 2020 we take a moment to pause and remember the 330,000 Australians who served in WW!. #WeRememberThem

12.01.2022 This week we brought the 'zoo' to Mini Bambini! We've been having lots of fun exploring all the different kinds of Zoo Animals as part of our 'Outdoor Fun' theme. The kiddos in our Kindy Room got creative, using their fine more skills and imagination to paint their favourite zoo animal. ... Our Toddler 2's got to get super messy, exploring the use of their senses as they searched for different zoo animals in sticky spaghetti, herbs, sand and water!

11.01.2022 The Early Years Learning Framework encourages educators to actively engage children in their own learning by identifying childrens strengths and interests and then reflecting these in their planning (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, 2009). This ensures that the childrens learning is not only interesting but also meaningful and relevant (Early Childhood Australia, 2012). With that in mind, our Toddler 1 kiddos have been very interested in our Com...munity theme, so theyve been using their imagination, current knowledge and creativity in some fun activities that focus on transport and construction! - They made cement by using flour and water to create a paste that they built on using building blocks. - They dressed up as construction workers! - Teacher Amy made a car track for them to explore, it even included some of their favourite places! - They painted with cars and did tyre track painting. All in all, theyve been having a whole lot of fun while learning all about things that are important to us all.

11.01.2022 Splish, splash! It's starting to warm up here in Perth, Summer is drawing nearer so our kiddos have been having lots of fun cooling off outside with some water play! 11.01.2022 Have you been making use of the Mini Bambini Library? - If you havent, what are you waiting for!? Our library features a variety of books for children of all ages and interests. Pick a book (or two) with your child and take them home to practice our two favourite kinds of reading. Book Sharing and Reading Aloud.... "Whats the difference between these two types of reading?" While both of these activities are super beneficial for children as they are about sharing and discussing books, each activity has slightly different objectives. Reading Aloud is when you read a book TO your child. This is a wonderful activity for helping your child develop their vocabulary as it normally involves a book with more challenging text. Its also a great way to introduce higher-level thinking. Book Sharing on the other hand is when you read a book WITH your child. It is an interaction between the reader and listener, while having a conversation and making comments about the book. It helps your child with reading comprehension. Simple tools for shared reading - pause regularly during the story and ask your child for predictions. A useful tip is to start sentences with I wonder(why, what, how, who). Happy Book Sharing, everybody!

09.01.2022 It's been a very special week this week at Mini Bambini, celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the spirit of NAIDOC Week 2020. 09.01.2022 We all know that Imaginative/pretend play encourages creativity and imagination, it enriches language development and nurtures social-emotional skills. But how can parents and caregivers encourage imaginative play? 1) Dont get frustrated when children move materials and toys to other areas. Instead, ask yourself why this is so important to you and decide whether your reasons are clear. If so and if you feel strongly about keeping materials in each area separate, make a habit... of discussing it with your children from time to time. By doing this it will become a set rule that everyone knows and is reminded of. We suggest that when toys and/or materials are moved to the role play area, take a moment to observe whether the children are using them creatively in their play (e.g a block/crayon/playdough becomes a symbol for food or a telephone). If so, allow them to continue and the when play is finished, remind them to return items and materials to their own areas. 2) Remember, theres no need to provide all sorts of real-looking things for children to play with e.g a Hair salon or doctors clinic. Parents and educators often (enthusiastically!) provide all sorts of real-looking things for children to play with. The problem with this is that very little is left to childrens imagination. They do not have to work very hard in symbolic play. Symbolic play is the type of play where children use an object or toy to represent something else. Therefore it is essential to include loose parts/ open-ended materials to an area and to allow time for free discovery play - unrestricted by equipment like seats or locations like commercial play centres. 3) Join in as an active participant in your childs imaginative play! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child and to think of ways to extend their games (books, stories, trips, more materials). We do acknowledge that it is sometimes hard with our busy lives. A useful tip is to encourage pretend play games at home as the opportunity arises for example pretending to cook alongside mum (while she prepares dinner). Get out the pots and pans and do add a little rice and noodles for him/her to stir!

04.01.2022 Weve all played with play-dough at some point in our lives and weve all found it amusing (even now as an adult it can be a fun activity to share with your child!) But did you know that it also helps children develop necessary everyday skills? Some of the skills include: ... Proprioception - often described as the sensations in the muscles that bring about bodily awareness and help with coordination. Pulling, pushing, flattening, molding and pounding play-dough are great activities to improve proprioception skills. We prefer using fingers and hands, but do encourage the use of tools like rollers, hammers, and scissors so that children can learn to use them. Intrinsic muscle strength when a child rolls a small ball of dough, with their thumb and fingers, they are working on strengthening the muscles that they will later use to write and colour. Finger isolation - using a single finger to perform a task. Pointing a finger, wiggling all of the fingers individually, and counting out the fingers on your hand are all finger isolations. Finger isolation is required for various functional activities, like dexterity in managing pencils and paintbrushes, tying shoes, and more. Honestly, it really doesnt matter what you do with playdough - the opportunities and benefits are endless! How to make Long lasting Play-dough: 2 cups flour 2 cups salt 4 teaspoons cream of tartar 2 cups water 2 teaspoons cooking oil Food colouring 1.Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar 2.Add water, oil and colouring 3.Heat the mixture on the stove until the dough pulls away from the pan 4.Remove from heat and knead it immediately.

03.01.2022 More than a word. From the 27th May until 3rd June it was National Reconciliation Week. A time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.... This year’s theme was ‘More than a Word’, acknowledging that reconciliation takes brave and impactful action. Here at Mini B’s the children got the opportunity to learn about and incorporate indigenious culture into their daily routine. In this photo, the children are pictured drawing the indigenous symbols in the sand. . . . #daycare #education #earlylearning #motherhood #fatherhood #family #love #childhood #kindergarten #perthlife #perthmums #perthdad #perthkidz #perthkids #minibambiniearlylearning #perthkindy #daycareprovider #daycarelife #daycarecenter #daycarekids #learning #learnandplay #learnthroughplay #growth #growtogether #growwithus #australia #westernaustralia #culture #reconciliationweek2021
