13.01.2022 RECREATION OF A LOCAL TREASURE: Misha is the mother of seven of the eight giraffe calves born at the Perth Zoo located in South Perth, Western Australia. Misha welcomed her much-anticipated first calf, Makulu, into the world in 1995. The now-famous photograph, The First Kiss," was taken by Ron D'Raine and was featured on the front page of The West Australian newspaper. It remains one of the most iconic images of the love between mother and child. Makulu has since grown up an...d become a father himself. His family line is a big success story in an effort by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation to save Rothschild's Giraffes, one of the most endangered giraffe subspecies in the world. Due to the massive response we usually get to our give-aways, and the fact that some responders turn out to be rude scalpers* we have a limit of one per person until more people have had a chance to PM me. 06.01.2022 The hardest part of parting out new sets isn't the 100's of hours in uncomfortable positions checking and categorizing and stacking parts, or the inventory management and paperwork... but deciding what animals I don't "need" so someone else can share the joy instead of me hoarding them for a "one-day" project.
