21.01.2022 Incoming Siamese Pair. This stunning pair of Siamese will be with MKC in about 2 weeks, they are coming from a loving home and have been through a lot. Charlie and Molly are 5 years old. male/female. They are not ready for adoption yet so at the moment we are only taking EOI's (Expression of Intere...sts) from people who understand Siamese and are willing to take on as foster carers/potential "foster to adopt" in the future. Register your interest on our form here - https://mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry We will ask about your experience/knowledge with the breed as that is important! Thank you so much for your help

17.01.2022 Campbelltown Pound food donation. This HUGE donation of supplies + Flea Tick and Worm was arranged by super volunteer Clair and went via Lisa to the team at Cambo pound. 16.01.2022 Babycat (also known as Babycrack) is the gold standard for Kitten care. Royal Canin are onto a winner there and the @Mini Kitty Commune is probably one of the largest users around as we supply it to our kittens and support shelters with it when we can afford to. It does one thing. Feeds baby kittens. It's pretty much the best it is. I like to call it "Three Demon Bag" (Anyone who watched the 80's movie Big Trouble in Little China will get the reference) as it's basically got ...the three things you need to grow. Protein, Fat, Vitamins. There's a bunch of other sciency stuff going in in there as well that Pete Evans would have a fit about. But Pete doesnt like cats I hear so his opinions dont matter. Campbelltown Pound is one of the most important AHF (Animal Holding Facilities) in Australia and we have been working with them and many rescuers for donkeys. They have an incredible rehoming rate largely because of the work they do with rescuers to save lives. It's one of the best. But last weekend they were dropped with 40 kittens in one day. FOURTY. We havent seen numbers like that since 2 years ago. Kitten season has hit. You need specialist kitten food or they will get sick and die. So here it is . . 500 servings of it straight to the mouths of angels with dirty faces. Thank you sponsors #Petbarnfoundation and most importantly our fantastic transporter this morning Meredith Dixon who has also been with the team for ever. Without you we could not do this. To sponsor our work visit www.mkc.org.au/sponsor and join the babycat support team. Each month $18 sponsor buys us a slab of babycat and thats just freakin ace. It also means that the lives of shelter workers is easier and better as cat/kittens are healthier and less likely to suffer. Nutrition is everything. Lets get this done!
16.01.2022 Beautiful Garfield still needs a home! He is a big affectionate boy with a big heart great with other cats and loves everyone that he meets. Affectionate swee...t-heart Garfield was dumped in the pound and has been a little sad ever since. He is such a gentle and affectionate soul who gives gentle little head boops and loves to have chat with cute chirps. He loves other cats just as much as every human he meets but will need a slow and proper introduction (like all cats). If you are wanting a gentle giant who will be your new best friend and never leave your side then Garfield is for you. Garfield is the cat who will walk out of his carrier and into your heart instantly! You just can’t help but adore him. He has such a beautiful personality. He is desexed, vaccinated, flea/worm treated and microchipped 941000025597159. If you are interested in adopting this cutie please message the page.
16.01.2022 A huge thank you to Petbarn and the #Petbarnfoundation for helping us re-stock the enormous MKC ARC site in Griffith. This load is part of 7 pallets and a huge cat condo heading over to Griffith today. This is Merlin and Tamara who did all the organisation for todays run with Bumblebee. Griffith is a massive site for the team. Regional town centre with lots of animal challenges. Lauren and the gang have been at it for years helping rescue and rehome local animals and help loc...als in need. Thanks again for all your help and to the sponsors that make this possible.

12.01.2022 We are devastated. Pancake is palliative. His FeLV has been confirmed today. Which means that the mass and enlargement are almost certainly lymphoma. It's always the sweetest ones. ... 12.01.2022 8am Saturday, bit of a shameless plug for Bunnings Warehouse Australia and Kennards Self Storage as we start the load ups for rescuers. This long weekend we will put at least 30 pallets out into rescuers around Australia and continue the huge supply drops to Greater Sydney. If you are a wildlife rescuer click here www.arcsupport.org.au/wildlife and raise a request We are here to help.

10.01.2022 Emergency supply load out to Campbelltown pound as they have had 40 kitten dropped on them in 2 days.
09.01.2022 Pancake Update So Mr Pancake didn't have his desex or dental procedure today. Along with the ultrasound, I opted for an x-ray as well as I noticed a mild but persistent cough. Unfortunately these showed thickened intestines, an enlarged spleen and a large mass next to his heart ... We are going to wait on definitive tests results for his FeLV and go from there. In the meantime, he is happy, warm and snuggly and spent the day charming the vet nurses with his smoochy ways. Will keep you all updated on Pancake news. - MKC Seniors Centre

05.01.2022 A big three days of donations. This past week we held a very well arranged pickup program, working with #Petbarnfoundation, #Petwise, #Purina, #Royal Canin and many other to get tonnage of supplies to rescuers in need. Nyree and the team coordinated the largest Companion rescuer support pickup possible. We do a lot for Wildlife and the public, this time it was for Companion and mixed mode carers (Wildlife/Companion) in Sydney (underserviced believe it or not!) What struck us ...is the absolute positivity. Very good people who get things done and have done for years. No entitlement or "whares the muney" demands. Hard working volunteers in tough rescue environments. Everyone was just glad for help and gave stories of incredible outcomes for animals in need. They do the real work so that animals live. Pickups include Sydney Homeless Pet outreach The Biker's Hand - Outreach Lithgow, Cowra, Bathurst, Campbelltown, Blacktown, Moruya Pound Lap Warmers Rescue Brighter Future Rescue Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc SWARS - South West Animal Rescue Service Hills Rescue Peanuts Wellbeing Sanctuary World League for Protection of Animals Safe & Sound Animal Rescue Inc Box It Forward Animal Aid CARE - Collective Animal Rescue Effort Tommy's Rescue Inner City Strays Sydney Street Cats The Cat's Playground Urban Cat Alliance The Cat's Empire Rescue & Rehoming Blue Mountains & Districts Cat Desexing Group Catmint Cottage Sydney Rescue All For Claws Cat Rescue Rosebuds Cat Rescue Kelly's Street Cats Cat Defence Network Inc Community Cat Carers Inc And Cat Protection dropped in with donations! That is like a visit from rescue royalty. The big signage? #Petbarnfoundation, #Greencross #WIRES, #MKC and everyone. We always say thank you (even if they arent across the exact category of animal that pickup was for) they are all helping solve this puzzle and move forward. WIRES helps our Wildlife and Petbarn helps Companion. We're all in it together. Something special this time? We mentioned that though there is a lot of Wildlife and dog support, there is not a lot of help for felines. So @Mini Kitty Commune chipped in with four tonne of food to help the feline rescuers. This meant we could complete the pickups well with everything needed. (Except Flea tick and worm, that stuff is like Unicorn blood it is so in demand!) Thank you as well to the huge new volunteer crew at Gladesville hub. Locals from the Love Gladesville page as well as many more who signed up from MKC directly. We now have a huge new team of lifters and shifters. This was a positive experience all of the MKC and ARC teams are incredibly grateful to be a part of. THANK YOU for your support. More to come!
05.01.2022 Happily every after for this gorgeous girl! A huge thank you to her beautiful family for adopting her and giving her such a beautiful life! After everything she... had to go through she deserves it. Rosebud was rescued from an awful case of neglect. The cats had no food, no water and the owner just left them in the house to rot while they went on holidays. Thank goodness the amazing neighbour contacted us and stepped in to help them. MKC desexed the adults on the property, rehomed who we could and rescued all the kittens. The kittens were very underweight, had an awful case of cat flu and were very dehydrated. With time, vet care and TLC they turned into amazing, affectionate and healthy little bundles of joy! The photo of her at the vet was after cleaning her eyes. Before she couldn’t even see through the gunk! Enjoy your beautiful life gorgeous girl! It was so worth saving you and your family.

04.01.2022 Hold onto your hats for totally gorgeous as Clarence & Lizzy aka Eyeball Gang are ready for adoption. Please share so we can increase their chances of the best forever home. This super cute brother & sister duo came into our care quite a few months ago. Beautiful Clarence was diagnosed with eyelid agenesis but clearly that hasn’t stopped him from being ridiculously handsome. He has undergone a number of surgeries to correct his condition and apart from loosing an eye he’s pas...sed every test with regards to healing and with sweeping everyone off their feet. Then there is our girl Lizzy, yes she looks at the world differently with her crossed eyes but this ads to her quirkiness. Call her name and the result is gold. Looking down her nose to focus on you is totally adorable. Clarence and Lizzy will be rehomed as a pair for comfort reasons they have been through a bit and have always bounced back to each other. Both are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea & worm treated.
