22.01.2022 Why do We Do Peekaboo Activities? Have you ever wondered why we do Peekaboo Activities in our Mini Maestros classes? Here are a few reasons...

22.01.2022 "So wonderful to be back today with my little Granddaughter. She just loved it! Life is beginning to feel normal again." If you have a back to class experience we would love to hear about it. Please email [email protected]

22.01.2022 What Happens in Term 4? In person classes in Victoria will not be permitted for some time under Victoria’s Roadmap for Reopening, so during Term 4 Mini Maestros has available Online Courses of weekly lessons plus additional fun and interactive Zoom sessions by local teachers (eg. parties, dress-up themes and grandparents’ days). Some teachers are also offering more structured weekly Zoom lessons. Check the Find a Class page (https://www.minimaestros.com.au/find/) to se...e what is on offer at your preferred location and to make an enquiry with your local teacher. As soon as it is permitted, Mini Maestros will return to in person classes with all appropriate safeguards (https://www.minimaestros.com.au/mini-maestros-covid-19-safe) If this happens during Term 4, first customers who are already enrolled in our Term 4 Online Courses or Zoom classes will be invited to upgrade their Term 4 enrolment to attend the in person classes (and will retain access to the Online Course as well). Then, all other enrolments will be accepted into our in person classes, space permitting. We expect places to be limited due to safe distancing requirements. During Term 4 we normally hold our much loved concerts. The Mini Maestros Concerts (https://www.minimaestros.com.au/news/detail/?nid=116) are a wonderful way to celebrate our year of learning and confidence building together. They provide an opportunity for children to present their love of music and share their learning with friends and family. If our end of year concerts are not able to proceed as normal this year, where possible, we will hold Zoom concerts so our students still have the opportunity to perform and celebrate with their peers in front of family and friends. As normal, our 4 - 5 year olds completing the full 10 weeks of Term 4 lessons (from our Online Course or by Zoom classes) will graduate from Mini Maestros and will receive their coveted Graduation Medal. 18.01.2022 Due to the 7 day lockdown announced for Victoria today, Mini Maestros in-person classes will not be held from Friday 28 May until Thursday 3 June inclusive. All students who have fully enrolled for Term 2 have received the Mini Maestros Online Course for Term 2 relevant to their age group. As outlined in our Frequently Asked Questions and Enrolment Terms for Term 2, the Online Course will take the place of your in-person lesson during the lockdown. Students undertaking a 3 w...eek trial will have their trial extended by one week. To access your Online Course: Login here: https://sso.teachable.com/secure/teachable_accounts/sign_in Email: Use your Mini Maestros registered email PW: If you can’t remember your password, click Forgot Password, and follow the email prompts. Like everyone, we are frustrated and sad that our Victorian in-person classes have been interrupted. Nevertheless, we respect that a short lockdown has been implemented in order to stamp out the current outbreak and we look forward to returning to class as soon as possible. We expect classes to resume on Friday June 4. We hope those of you impacted enjoy doing Mini Maestros online this week. Feel free to send us in some photos of your little one doing lessons online to [email protected] or through the app.

16.01.2022 Learning Musical Terms At Mini Maestros we use the rhythm syllables to teach rhythm because studies have shown that the Kodály method improves intonation, rhythm skills, music literacy, and the ability to sing in increasingly complex parts. Ta-ah (or sometimes Too) is the Kodály method rhythm syllable name for a Minim. Each note is twice as long as a ta. We find Ta-ah in the goodbye song: every ‘bye’ is a ta-ah.

My 4-5s were especially over the moon to come back. One girl flopped down on her mat, laid on her back like a starfish and screamed "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIIIIIIFE!" It filled my heart with so much joy and made all the grown-ups crack-up laughing. Then for the rest of the lesson, all the kids wou...ld call out "can we do it again?" After every activity! They were SO sad when it was time to finish, all saying it went too quick! - Maddy Kelly
