23.01.2022 We thought we would share some amazing pics taken by MP Project Coordinator Tim Campbell a few months ago. Mining Plus secured an Access Agreement with Bardoc Gold Limited for Shine Resources to utilise the currently decommissioned bore field during the mining of the Chameleon Open Pit. Under the agreement Mining Plus is refurbishing a portion of the bore field and drawing water for road construction and dust suppression.... Ivan Beattie, of Karrillon Groundwater, and Tim conducted some air-lifts to flush the bores, checked their integrity and tested the current flow rates. Samples were also taken to send to the lab for analysis on pH, EC, TDS etc. The analysis provided information for environmental considerations and bore pump construction. A little bit of history... The bore field originally supplied water for the Bardoc Processing facility, approximately 16km to the south, from the late 1980s to 1996. In 1996 Cons Gold purchased the mine and moved the processing facility to Davyhurst. Since then the bore field has not been utilised or maintained. 21.01.2022 After 6 months in Brisbane, Andrew is heading home! When COVID-19 hit, Principal Geology Consultant Andrew Goode was in Brisbane for work. Although our legendary Mining Plus Brisbane team consider him as one of their own, he is now able to head back to Perth after an extended time of not being able to travel due to restrictions.... 20.01.2022 On Friday the Mining Plus team was invited by the MinEx CRC team to check out one of their CT rigs and to develop a better understanding of the breadth of the work that goes into their projects. Being the mining obsessed individuals we are, we couldnt pass by the opportunity to take a couple of pictures in front of the CT rig! We have also included a few images (from MinEx) from site trials as well. 17.01.2022 Burden and spacing are two major parameters influencing fragmentation, ground vibrations, and overall costs. During a recent project, one of our MP Mining Consultants suggested changes to drill and blast patterns by comparing blast vibrations from 64mm and 76mm holes. Measuring how hard each fired hole worked in relation to the peak average in the same blast can give us a percentage of holes that work harder than the average. Once enough data has been gathered, it is possib...le to compare different design patterns and draw conclusions relating to burden, spacing and easer position. Last week our client Canyon Resources Ltd released an announcement on the completion of its maiden JORC (2012) Ore Reserve estimate for the Minim-Martap Bauxite Project in Cameroon, West Africa. Mining Plus assisted with the Mineral Resource Estimates for the project and completed mine planning, design, scheduling and mining cost estimation for the Pre-Feasibility Study, leading to the maiden JORC Ore Reserves estimate. Special mentions to Mining Plus U...K team members John Battista, who has fulfilled the role of JORC Competent Person for Ore Reserves on the project, and Julian Aldridge for his great work on the Mineral Resource estimates. 12.01.2022 We have officially passed the halfway mark of the year and we thought we would reflect on a huge history changing moment achieved by our partner company Byrnecut Australia Pty Ltd on their contract mining work at the OZ Minerals Prominent Hill location. Prominent Hill became the first mine in the world to trial tele-remote operation of Sandviks development drills. Despite the challenges caused by COVID-19 over the last few months, Byrnecut Australia and OZ Minerals success...fully implemented an automation upgrade for the Sandvik DD422i. The new automation and tele-remote package for Sandviks two-boom hydraulic development drill rigs, enables the rigs to be monitored and controlled from the surface. In the first few weeks of operation at Prominent Hill, 60-70 drill holes were recorded remotely and autonomously from the surface, and the mine conservatively estimates a 10% increase in productivity.
