23.01.2022 Lumens ain't Lumens! Following on from my post of March 30 about how projector manufacturers (and sellers) quote the brightness of their projectors' light output, I noticed an online advertisement today quoting 18,000 Lumens output from a mini LED projector no bigger than a smartphone. Please don't believe everything you see online, it's so easy for advertisers to claim a typo, oops we accidentally added an extra zero. It often happens with personal powerbanks also, 2,000 mA...h somehow becomes 20,000 mAh, enough to power a laptop. Mmmm! So we're just asking you to check your facts, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, get our FREE fact sheet by visiting www.miniprojector.com.au While we're on it, if you spend less than AUD$100.00 on a mini projector, you will most likely get what you pay for. Don't expect HD with all the bells and whistles for the price of a candle in a box with a jam jar for a lens! Till the next post, Stay at Home and maintain your focus! See more

15.01.2022 Are you thinking of buying a mini projector for home cinema during the COVID-19 self-distancing outbreak? Lumens are the measurement of brightness, but consider this before buying a projector that supposedly outputs 500 or 600 Lumens. ANSI Lumens are certified by the American National Standards Institute and are the benchmark measurement of brightness. Many manufacturers and sellers claim extraordinary Lumens for their projectors, which are often 6-12 times what the ANSI Lumens would be if these manufacturers certified their projectors. These are often termed "marketing" Lumens. Bear this in mind if you are looking for a serious home cinema alternative. Mini Projector always quotes Lumens in certified ANSI Lumens, not "marketing" Lumens. We're here to help you make the best decision to get the best value for your money.
