19.01.2022 JELLYBEAN POST #2 For all of those who have been waiting patiently (and not so patiently) AAAAAALLLL week, here's the next installment of #MinisPlusProjectJellybean who recently came to us via a long term owner. Jellybean was a project masterminded in the early to mid 90s. It was originally a 1968 Morris sedan that initially received a complete body overhaul: deseamed, fibreglass flipfront, all lines and edges smoothed out, and registered as KYV-468, s/he was a sight to make... the eyes glad. Fast-forward 28 years, and Jellybean was ready for some TLC. Once back in our workshop, closer examination revealed the extent of the required care. Beneath the protective layer of dust lay the usual victims of the rust worm, plus decaying bog and some pretty sad paint. Inside we found a woodgrain dash, MAX ROB steering wheel, peculiar and unique gearstick knob, and full black interior. Carpet looked ok, rear seats were fine, but fronts (hidden under the faux sheepskin covers) would need some work. Overall, Jellybean looked structurally like a worthwhile project with enough of a twist to be fresh and interesting. After a good wash, we were ready to look under the bonnet. Stay tuned!

03.01.2022 ***BONUS JELLYBEAN POST*** This is a bonus post, because I (Jess) was so intrigued by the restructuring of the front end to allow for the flipfront to be added. I had not realised what needed to be done, or where, and why. Such a lot of material cut away, and do those bracing strips really give enough support? (Yes, according to the engineers report!)... Have you ever done a flipfront and care to show me photo's of how you did it? Also those little extra boxes on the firewall were specially added to allow speakers to be inset into the footwells. 02.01.2022 International Moke Day (IMD). Working on the replacement Motor our own Moke. So far we have found: Bent Camshaft, Damaged Cam bearings, Compression too high (12:1) and a broken piston. - So much for a quick Rings & Bearings!

01.01.2022 JELLYBEAN POST #3 (If you missed the others, click #MinisPlusProjectJellybean ) Once Jellybean was brought home and given a wash and quick lookover, it was parked up to attend to More Urgent Matters (aka: making a living). Yet everytime Ben walked past it was as if Jellybean was calling: "Come make me live again". Eventually he could ignore the call no longer, stayed back late, and spent some time tickling the vitals. ... Under the hood was pretty cool. In addition to re-imagining and re-engineering the external look, a great deal of thought and planning had also gone into re-working the inner powerhouse. Under that smooth flip-front some of the things we found: - Cooper S engine and gearbox - Cooper S disc brakes - turbo charged fuel injection running a wolf management system - oil cooler - water injection - large radiator After some very careful and considered recommissioning, tests, checks and fluid change, the engine was coaxed back into life.

It doesnt matter what your car looks like, this is a show for everyone from this who have a pristine show car, to those who have a wreck in a paddock, they are all accepted! In this group (minisexposed - MINIS EXPOSED ONLINE CAR SHOW 2020) create a post to the whole group (not just this announcement) where it says say something right at the top of the group and write a few words about your car and what makes it special to you. Then, add the photos by following the PHOTOS button below the text youve written. You can add as many or as few as you want to, but if you add multiple make sure you do them all at the same time. There is no need to make more than one post if you cant see it straight away, as they wont become visible until the show opens, even to you! If you think youve made a mistake on your post before the show starts, email the admin ([email protected]) and we will delete what you have already submitted and you can start again. Once you click POST/SUBMIT/DONE/SAVE your work will be sent to the show organisers, who will have it displayed on the page at 7pm (19:00hr) on Friday the 29 of May 2020.
