23.01.2022 Were nearly three weeks into a new term and plenty of excellent Maths has been going on already so its time for the next Mathematician of the Month. This award is given in recognition of a Year 10, 11, or 12 students hard work, perseverance in face of challenges, analysis of mistakes, positive attitude towards Mathematics, willingness to work cooperatively with others, and articulation of their thought processes. I am happy to announce the Mathematician of the Month for June is Haillie Borgmeyer. Ms Kate Sheppard

02.01.2022 STOP PRESS! Despite several information sources from me stating that MDS would be closed on Thursday and Friday, at 3.10pm I received communication from the Department that schools would be open for vulnerable children and children of essential workers. Tomorrow and Friday we will have a skeleton staff at MDS to care for any students who need to be there. There will not be a learning program but we will keep them busy! Buses WILL operate on all routes for the remainder of... the week. My sincere apologies for the confusion - it was entirely beyond my control. Once again, thank you for your support and cooperation. 01.01.2022 The DJ AliB Jump Rope Challenge was on today! There was LOTS of skipping action out in the quadrangle with some appropriately themed Jump music! Scores in the first round of the House Challenge: Spencer finished the day with 2,944 points, Yorke with 3,149 points, and Vincent in top spot with 3,297 points. Both Vincent and Yorke had students who managed to skip continuously for 5 minutes in the ‘sustained’ skipping challenge. Huge thanks to our student leaders and house leaders who supported today’s fun and were in charge of counting! There’s a new challenge for next week - get skipping!
