Mic stand A mic stand is an essential if you don’t want your arm aching after an hour of holding your microphone! They are relatively cheap to pick up and will greatly increase your comfort while recording your podcast! Pop filter This underrated piece of kit will make the world of difference for your listeners! The sole purpose of a pop filter is to reduce your plosive or ‘popping’ sounds that usually occur when pronouncing ‘p’ or ‘b’. As a result your audio quality will dramatically improve! 05.01.2022 3 years ago I invested in my first GoPro, the GoPro Hero 5 Session....and haven't looked back since The first major holiday that I got to fully use it was in 2017 when, as a family, we went to Exmouth for a week. I filmed everything from snorkelling with a shark to catching yellowfin tuna to trekking on one of the most stunning walks in Northern Western Australia It was in the lull of coming back from Exmouth and going back to school that I wanted to relive this amazing holiday. So using a free film software and a limited amount of video editing knowledge, I set out creating my very first travel montage....

01.01.2022 So where did the name Mintaka Media come from? Mintaka was the name of the catamaran that as a family we sailed around the Whitsundays in for a week in 2014. This was a crazy and adrenaline filled week with everyday posing a different experience; from snorkeling with fish the size of my brother to panicking when the boat alarm went off in the middle of the night! More importantly though, this was the first time I experienced and realized my passion for videography. At the tim...e, I had a $50 underwater camera from Kmart that I found perfect as I could now record all my cool findings and experiences! As the years progressed, I kept upgrading my camera and improving my videography and editing skills, eventually getting to the stage today where I’m beginning a new venture into helping other people with their videography. However, I always come back to this week in the Whitsundays and on the Mintaka sailing boat where it all started!
