24.01.2022 Before I found my passion for photography, my background was in Fine Art I drew and painted from a young age, however I only got into oils in the past 2 years. What I love about the medium is the ability to be able to re-work & blend colours to create realistic paintings. I’m inspired by surrealism and the Renaissance era, using my original photographs to paint from. ... Since starting oils I have found a reoccurring motif in my work, cloudy blue skies with objects that appear to be floating, or a window into the unknown @ Mint Art House

07.01.2022 Earlier in the week Channel 7 came to visit the studio to announce Mint Art House as one of 15 recipients of a $3,000 grant from Arts Queensland as administered by Placemakers GC The grant is designed to support artists and arts organisation during COVID. The restrictions imposed by the virus meant that we had to cancel all our workshops and were forced to relocate venues. Our grant funds will provide financial assistance in formulating and planning a new summer program of a...rtist-led workshops and artist talks open to the public, set to roll out in October. This is the first time Mint has ever received any funding, all activities that take place at Mint are self-funded and time is volunteered. We're driven by a love of the arts and a desire to share that with our local community. Thanks to everyone that has supported us thus far. We are excited to welcome you all into our new studio!

01.01.2022 We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we’ve just received the stART Grant from Arts Queensland, administered by @placemakersgoldcoast !! The grant is designed to support artists and organisations impacted by covid. We’ll be using our $3,000 to conceptualise a new round of Summer workshops from our resident artists, set to roll out in October. Currently all the work that goes into Mint behind the scenes is volunteered by our resident artists, and this grant means t...hat we have the financial support to create a new program that opens up a deeper artistic practice to the public. Expect niche and curious workshops designed for all levels This grants gives us a chance to collaborate with each other as we develop new workshops, but also the opportunity to engage the public into a deeper conversation around art and it’s impact on society. We’d like to thank @placemakersgoldcoast for seeing the vision of Mint and supporting us with this grant.
