21.01.2022 I’m honoured once again to be joining my international colleagues in adjudicating the LIT Lighting Design Awards and am looking forward to seeing what incredible talent has entered from around the world in light and lighting design this year.

10.01.2022 The lighting of artwork was essential for the home owners of our Albury project, and because they engaged interior designers @livdesigns.au we had a clear interior design vision as to where each artwork was to be situated throughout their home and therefore able to plan something pretty wonderful. Now, regardless of which way you want to experience your art, it is critical that you choose lighting for that room [or specifically for that wall] that has the best possible colo...ur rendering. Why is colour rending so important? All the answers are in our blog ‘Tips to Lighting Wall Art’ https://mintlighting.com.au/designers-blog if you want more than a standard lighting plan full of downlights and you’ve finalised your house plans. Reach out to us at MINT and we’ll arrange to have a chat to discuss the specifics of your project. 09.01.2022 In a bathroom it's vital that your lighting accurately portray skin tones, because if your light isn’t good quality, your reflection will look kind of ‘off colour’ in the mirror which won’t be a great start to any day! Knowing what to look for is a crucial first step. So, quality light fittings always have a CRI rating but what is this CRI?... Well it stands for ‘Colour Rendering Index’ and it’s the way quality of light is measured. Meaning, it is the measurement of the colour quality in light, and it is different for every light fitting. ‘Understanding the importance of Colour Rending and Colour Temperature in Bathroom Lighting’ is over on the blog simply head to the link below... https://mintlighting.com.au//708rfcsyvdteyv6yb6tumi0wilbz3g If you want more than a standard lighting plan full of downlights and you’ve finalised your house plans - reach out to us at MINT.and we’ll arrange to have a chat to discuss the specifics of your project - call [03] 9555 2275 or email [email protected] Zoom - online consultations are always available anywhere in Australia.. 07.01.2022 With LED light coming in so many shapes and sizes, it can be hidden in just about anything. But before you rush into lighting up with LED Strip everywhere..there’s so much more that has to be taken into consideration to getting that light right 1. Colour Rendering (the ability of a light source to represent colours faithfully) 2. Consistency of White (that's the colour temperature - how warm or cool the light looks, and then how consistent that colour is across different l...ights) 3. Glare control (creating light without glare has always been a key focus for luminaire designers) 4. Efficiency - how much energy is used to create the light - and how much of the light created actually leaves the fitting and enters the room. Our ‘Tips and Trends to getting the Best Lighting Plan for your HOME’ is over on the blog link below https://mintlighting.com.au//tips-and-trends-to-getting-th And my first tip, is to get involved with the lighting selection and not leave it for the last minute so your only choice is cheap downlights.
