23.01.2022 Recent research has found increasing your step rate by just 10% immediately reduces the pressure through your knees when running. What does this mean?. Less knee pain! Making just small changes to your running style can have huge impacts on reducing pain, and can also prevent running injuries. Improving your running style can also improve your overall running efficiency (making you run faster with less effort!).... Whether you're getting back into running, or need guidance to run without pain, or just want to be a more efficient runner - book your comprehensive Running Assessment with a Mint Physio NOW!

15.01.2022 Why your baby should do 30mins tummy time every day: Looking at over 4000 babies, Australian researchers have shown 30mins of tummy time per day leads to: Improved physical development Healthier weight babies... Improved social and cognitive functioning Walking And of course, better shaped heads! This is in line with the WHO recommendations of 30 mins Tummy time, at least 1 hr unrestrained play and no screens for bubs under 1yo. NB in some circumstances your physiotherapist may require you to increase tummy time to 60 mins daily - this is a common recommendation when Bub’s have torticollis (a stiff neck resulting in a turned head) and /or plagiocephaly (a flat spot on their head). If you notice any of these, it's important to know some simple strategies can quickly change this for your Bub; but they need to be implemented asap. Book an appointment with Mint Physio's Amber or Shauna now!

14.01.2022 Hands up if you can help! We have over 40 businesses in Perth who have kindly collected donations for #thenappycollective ! Now we need volunteers to pick up the nappies anytime next week (May 24-28th), and deliver them to us at Penrhos on saturday morning (May 29th).... If you can possibly do one of these pick-ups the Mint team would be eternally grateful - as will all the excited families about to receive these important nappies. If you're able to help us out, please contact Amber directly: [email protected] or [email protected] (this is her official TNC email address) Thank you!!!
