23.01.2022 Mail Times is writing up a story on our campaign to return what people in other towns take for granted. A fuel outlet. I wonder if the Vic Minister for Regional Development comes across it....

21.01.2022 Plan of your new fuel outlet.

16.01.2022 Like so many things in life if you don't do it yourself it doesn't get done. And so it is with your fuel station. We need to raise funds. Possibly $100K +. It is a lot of money and I ask. Can you help? Can you spare a few dollars? It all helps. The donation tins are back out in town looking for your small change. If you feel you can donate a lot more call me on 0438817950 or have a chat with one of the Minyip Progress Assoc Executive. We will not take your money but advise... you on how and where to donate. Privacy is assured should you require it.. Next Thursday, Parma & Pot night at The Pub, we will be starting another raffle for that night and those to come. Two Parma's & Two Pot's the prize. Proceeds all go to the fuel project. On this call for help the whole town benefits. You today, your children and grandchildren in years to come. When any possible loans are paid out all proceeds from the sale of fuel will go back into town projects.

14.01.2022 The following has just been sent to various news outlets and MPs To all, at the time of writing. Working on averages today I will travel 43k (round trip) costing $5.80 in fuel to fill with fuel on roads maintained by VicRoads so dangerous that they have posted 80k speed limits on some.... Why? Because like the rest of the residents in Minyip we have to. We have no choice. That was taken away from us over 12 months ago when the EPA ruled that our fuel station did not meet current regulations and the new owners were unable to reopen it. OK the law is the law. Get over it and move on. We did, we started to fight to bring back that service to the local community and those many travellers that pass through. Today we have Local Council approvals in place. A fuel distributor ready and waiting to install and service the equipment. The final stages are taking place in acquiring the land, just the subdivision and Titles exchange left to deal with. Hopefully by August work can start and if that happens we should be back to normal by late November maybe in time for this year’s harvest. All looking positive. We thought. Then we ‘unofficially’ found out that after over what is now 56 weeks the Vic Minister for Regional Development decided not to grant us the $50.000 we applied for all that time ago. And still today, after asking repeatedly for an official statement from those in Melbourne. Silence. The Andrew’s Govt Minister for Regional Development has now put us back what could be another 12 months while we try and raise the shortfall of $50.000. So when you slip down to the local servo, think of us as we drive 43k just to fill up our car, because apart from the inconvenience of doing so, the condition of the roads make it a lottery that we will return. My Thanks to the Victorian Govt. K J Daniells

13.01.2022 AT 7 30pm WEDNESDAY 14th AUGUST THE MINYIP PROGRESS ASSOC WILL HOLD A TOWN MEETING AT THE MEMORIAL HALL. THE FUEL OUTLET IS A WHOLE OF TOWN PROJECT & THE MEETING IS BEING HELD SPECIFICALLY TO ADDRESS FUNDING AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

12.01.2022 After over a year of negotiations we are now in the final stretch with the VicTrack caveat, subdivision and Titles exchange now underway. Once those items had been finalised we were hoping to start work on your new fuel outlet. However, in their cocooned wisdom and after 53 weeks of occasional thought the Dept of Regional Development Minister and her minders in Melbourne have decided not to assist with a $50.000 grant. At the very least I am happy to have given them somethi...ng to do. So it is back to us to raise the funds. The $50.000 would have been less than half of what is required. An estimated cost currently sitting on $150.000 is the target and although some legal fees have been slotted into that figure the actual legal fees still remain an unknown. I and others have been working on available Grants to assist in the funding but unfortunately our particular project does not meet the criteria of many and we cannot change the nature of our project to fit, and although we may be successful in one or two, unfortunately their timeframes could put us back another 12 months or more. One step we are taking will be seeking legal advice on issuing Debentures. But the first step is that the donation tins spread around town which were used to help raise funds for the repairs to Emma’s Garage will now be converted to raising fund for your fuel outlet. Be assured that everything that can be done to raise the funds will be looked into and should you have an idea that you also can follow through on then please come forward.

10.01.2022 The roof on the fuel site could be a great spot for a mural......

06.01.2022 From a little community that gave Australia so much, Minyip. (Coopers Crossing and the Flying Doctors TV series) Now fighting towards bringing back this vital service,a fuel outlet. Something taken for granted in the 'big smoke'.... Now we need to raise funds. Just $150k will do the trick. Watch this space grow.......
