25.01.2022 Attention golfers the Minyip golf club has decided to run a shortened tournament this year. We are not sure if it will certainly go ahead with the restrictions changing all the time. But at this stage it is a go, all entries need to be messaged through to Cindy Marsh or Nick Hudson phone numbers, tournament details and deadlines are on the flyer. This Sunday is first round of match play knockouts. Max Webb memorial 4bbb championships is the 19th of July and First round of club championships is the 26th of July.

23.01.2022 Attention Members As you would be aware golf is allowed to be played again which is great. But the Minyip golf club will be closed to all golf until further notice. Once the restrictions came in place the committee decided it would be a good opportunity to rejuvenate the course. It got speed tilled, thanks to the Tegelhuter’s for the use of there tractor and speed tiller. More dirt spread out, thanks to Cindy and Alan Marsh for use of the backhoe, Dale Petering on the Loader and Liam carting. Gypsum spread, thanks to the Leiths for delivering gypsum and for the use of their spreader. Then it got smoothed off and seed spread, thanks to the Niewand’s for use of their urea spreader, tractors and trucks. Thanks to Keith Landwehr for rolling and Keith Daniels for mowing. Hopefully we will be back in action in about a month.

19.01.2022 Minyip Golf Club opened on Sunday with a minute's silence for past member & handicapper Max Webb. Max was a wonderful member who enjoyed his golf and fellowship. He will be sadly missed by all. Our deepest sympathies to Jenny, Nerida, Scott, Anthony, William & Charlie. RIP. Eileen Walsh sponsored our opening day and it was well supported.

12.01.2022 MINYIP GOLF CLUB HAS CANCELLED ALL COMPETITION GOLF FOLLOWING A RECOMMENDATION FROM GOLF AUSTRALIA BASED ON A DIRECTIVE FROM THE VICTORIAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. THE COURSE IS NOW CLOSED FOR COMPETITION GOLF UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. It is Golf Australia’s recommendation that, based on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services directive issued as part of the Victorian Government’s Stage 2 restrictions regarding COVID-19, all golf clubs and facilities should close as soon as practicable until April 13, 2020. (Likely to change) The flags and rakes will not be put out to eliminate potential touch points. If a member would like to have a hit of golf on there own or with direct family member you are still welcome too. Ensuring you maintain the current social distancing requirements.

01.01.2022 Hello all golf members. Great news the committee has had discussion with Golf Australia and Golf Victoria and under these extreme global circumstances we are able to continue playing golf. There will be some strict social distancing enforced and several changes around the club to ensure we meet social distancing guidelines. The committee had a conference call tonight to discuss the requirements. At this stage golf can still go ahead which is great. There is still work to b...e done at the golf course to ensure it is set up and ready for play. ***** Can you please ensure we all as members get down to the club if you can to do one last tidy up of your fairway. If you are unsure on which fairway is yours see attached photo. ***** IF YOU ARE UNWELL OR HAVE FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE GOLF CLUB. IF ANY MEMBER IS NOT FOLLOWING SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CLUB. Let’s hope in the stressful time we can all enjoy some semi social golf. Our entertainment nights always sold out quickly and were lots of fun and laughter. Our sympathy to Graeme’s wife Owna and to his children Darren, Kerryn & Ross and their partners and families.
