20.01.2022 REQUEST TO STOP HARVEST THIS AFTERNOON CFA District 17's Assistant Chief Fire Officer Eddie Lacko has asked farmers in the northern Horsham, West Wimmera, Hindm...arsh and Yarriambiack Shire areas to refrain from harvesting between 1pm and 7pm tonight. He said today and Saturday would see fire danger ratings of very high and severe across these areas, and harvesting in these conditions would bring with it a risk of damage to headers and crops. "We've had a number of fires started from headers in harvesting time, and a fairly large hayshed," he said. "Tomorrow is going to be just as hot if not hotter, but we've got a cool change coming through with a south westerly, which will increase our fire risk. "If we get any fire, the wind change will change the direction of the fire, so around the same times on Saturday if we could refrain from harvesting work around those times it would be greatly appreciated." The CFA says in its latest update that the hay shed fire at Mokepilly Road, Jung, is contained but will smoulder for a few days producing smoke.

If they don’t pay, the scammer says, they will be arrested. The number displayed on the caller identification is that of the police station. Please note that these calls are not from Victoria Police or any other law enforcement agency.
