20.01.2022 1 Year ago today, a true hero crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was & will always be remembered as Dr. Remy. This is his story. At the age of 4, I was adopted into a loving family & I had a special gift that I could not explain. I became a Delta Therapy Dog & a Miracle Paws Therapy & Comfort Dog in Melbourne Australia. During the week, I would meet hundreds of people & on weekends at fetes, events & Farmer’s Markets I would meet thousands. It is estimated throughout my life... I put smiles on over 80,000 faces. I comforted the elderly, hospital patients, many in acute surgical units, ICU, cardiac, ER, palliative, rehabilitation. I loved the children's wards & enjoyed special times with the amazing & compassionate staff that became my friends. Working with the Red Cross, Headspace, Beyond Blue & youth programs was always rewarding. I enjoyed visiting kids from preschool to tertiary. It was fun! I attended funerals, offered grief support & I valued working with youth mental health programs & people with medical ailments. There were occasions I was faced with aggressive behaviours & I turned these into smiles. Finally in late 2017 my humans realised my special gift of providing love & hope, understanding people with cancer & those suffering from stroke. I would greet them with a special kiss on their fingers & then I would kiss dads hand. I developed a special bond with these exceptional humans. I was given the honour of being called Dr. Remy. I would travel to vigils & memorial services across Melbourne. Tragedies that touched our lives, the lives of our community, our country & beyond our borders. We offered a helping paw, a soft coat to pet, a floppy ear to listen, a warm body to cuddle & lean on. We supported many worthwhile events including the Olivia Newton John Wellness Walk. Olivia said how beautiful we were. It was there that dad realised I had a serious health issue. My CT scan showed that my time was up however I still kept giving. I have so many heart warming stories, courageous stories, sad stories, funny stories, those of optimism, promise & a hope for a better tomorrow. I am passing on my knowledge to my little brother "Cheeky Chilli" Dr. Remy See more

20.01.2022 Miracle Paws Comfort and Therapy Dogs put smiles on human faces at Monash Health today. Chilli, Roly and Kai had so much fun with the clients. The staff also had their share of puppy love with lots of pets, cuddles, kisses and Chilli performed a little dance as well.
