25.01.2022 5/6NK and 5/6M enjoyed a fun game of "zulu" with their teachers on Friday afternoon! Plenty of fun, friendship and laughter!

24.01.2022 Some inspiring artwork from around our school recently...the walls have come alive with colour and expression! Love your creative expression year 2, 3 and 4!

23.01.2022 A perfect afternoon for the Stage Three Oz Tag round robin. Congratulations to stage three on their fabulous effort and great teamwork!

22.01.2022 Not even a cloudy day could dampen 1B's enthusiasm for their sun dials! They took advantage of the waiting time and painted the dials to make them shine! Love your curiosity, 1B!

21.01.2022 Stage Two are collaborating using a technique called "text to talk" where they communicate deeply and carefully using text, to listen to and respond to differing ideas. Here they are using this technique to explore art installations and their effect on people's feelings.

19.01.2022 KC are relishing the challenge in gymnastics this term! Learning to balance, travel smoothly and develop core strength are all goals for our young people. Love your determination, kindergarten! We are proud of you!

17.01.2022 3J have been making real world connections from their Inquiry Based Learning unit to the recent 2019-2020 bushfires. They read the text "Fire", by Jackie French. This text brought up a lot of emotions as the students linked their personal experiences of bushfires with the text. They learnt about the effect the bushfires have had on Australian wildlife, humans, firefighters and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 3J then worked on developing a range of language devices to create their own poems about bushfires. They selected their favourite part of their poems to copy onto their bushfire artworks. Love your deep learning, 3J!

17.01.2022 2020...that's a wrap! Our staff wish the whole Miranda North community a happy and safe holiday with friends and loved ones. We have so appreciated sharing the journey of learning with you this year on our Facebook page. We'll take a little rest over the holidays with our FB posts and see you again in 2021. Thank you for your wonderful support of our very beautiful school and inspiring young people. Happy holidays everyone...take very good care! Ms Orlovich xx

17.01.2022 Sun, fun, run! We had all of these yesterday at the sporting fun day. Thanks to our fabulous student leaders from across the school for planning and executing a great day. Would you believe we raised $650 for the student playground project! Great job everyone! Keep an eye out next term for more pics of the day!

16.01.2022 Through their inquiry unit, 3/4S discussed the 2020 bushfires and explored the perspectives of those impacted by them. They used this understanding and the knowledge they had gained in previous sessions to create a piece of poetry that reflected their knowledge and was told from the perspective of someone affected. Miss Short couldn't be more proud of the depth of work 3/4S have produced and their empathy.

15.01.2022 Our student leaders are making super plans for our school! The SRC meet each week to work on their team projects with the aim to improve what's on offer in our playground and classrooms. Hearing the voices of their classmates, collaborating for improvement and providing constructive feedback are all important skills that our students are developing. They are excited to see the plans coming alive! Here they are in action! Love your team work and influence, SRC!

15.01.2022 We hope our special Dads, Grand-dads and Carers have a great day on Sunday. Thanks to our wonderful P and C for making hundreds of goody bags for our special dads and to our families for supporting the fundraiser! Our students also send you lots of good wishes!

13.01.2022 Welcome to the official Facebook page for Miranda North Public School.

12.01.2022 KD were busy making and creating on Friday afternoon using recycled materials. They let their imagination run wild and created time machines, aliens, treasure chests, minions and even spaceships. Love your creativity, KD!

12.01.2022 And in the blink of an eye....our primary years are completed and we are moving on to new horizons and adventures...supported by our parents, carers, classmates, friends and teachers....Here's the fun "clap out" for our Year 6 students! Enjoy!

09.01.2022 A wonderful last day for our students....congratulations Year 6 on a fabulous learning journey at Miranda North. We were so thrilled to share the last assembly with your loved ones. At the end of the day our whole school came together to congratulate our Year 6 students with a special "clap out". Happy holidays everyone!

08.01.2022 Our final post for the year! We wish you a safe and very happy holiday season with family, friends and loved ones. Thank you for your wonderful support of our very special school in 2020. Ms Orlovich and the staff team at MNPS.

07.01.2022 The sun shone on our Gala Day today as our senior students showed their leadership dispositions in organising and running such a successful and fun experience for our students. Congratulations on a fabulous day! Thank you to our families for their support in preparing for the day!

07.01.2022 5/6M collaborated to research information about the Sun and created a poster of their findings. Their team work and grit is super strong, as is their curiosity!

06.01.2022 Happy "end of term" to the MNPS community! Thanks for your support and positivity as we progressed through a term of learning with COVID-19 adjustments. Our students have been outstanding in grit, focus and influence. Great work, teachers and support staff, for your care, energy and creativity. We are proud of, and thankful for, each and every one of our school community! Have a great spring break with loved ones. See you in term 4.

06.01.2022 Our senior students are enjoying a new lunchtime game...badminton! We purchased a new set for the playground with a recent sporting grant. Always keen to try something new, our stage three students have been encouraging to each other, enthusiastic and great team players! Love your brave, fun and optimistic attitude, stage three!

05.01.2022 4/5J have been learning about Antarctic explorers! The students have been particularly interested in Sir Ernest Shackleton's journey and the challenges and obstacles his team overcame. Through collaborative discussions and deep noticing, 4/5J linked many of Shackleton's traits and actions to our disposition wheel. They were amazed at how one person could truly represent all of these qualities even in the face of adversity. The students have learned that they can also represent all of these qualities even when things get tough!

03.01.2022 2L are investigating "ten". They are exploring ten as a base unit and finding ways they can estimate large numbers by grouping by tens. Their recycled plastic lids came in super handy as they estimated and counted an enormous pile, collected groups of ten and counted by decades to finalise their answer! Great thinking, 2L!

03.01.2022 Here's a post to brighten your day! 1B enjoyed learning about colour and contrast by painting Moonlit Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees. Here they are feeling super proud of their creations!
