25.01.2022 A reminder that the MIrboo North Swimming Pool Committee are holding their AGM THIS Thursday 3rd December 2020 at 6pm in MIrboo North Schools' Library. For nomination forms, agenda items or any further information please contact Tonya Wright on 0438 682 298. Want to be present but can't get there in person? Speak to Tonya about joining remotely too. Now is a great time to get involved as there are exciting times ahead with the major redevelopment of our pool is nearing completion. Everyone welcome.

23.01.2022 Thanks to the South Gippsland Shire Council for this time lapse of the pool redevelopment to date. We have received a lot of requests for updates, so hopefully this provides an insight on what has been happening.

21.01.2022 It’s been a busy few weeks with the redevelopment of the pool well underway and the buy a tile campaign attracting so much attention. Thank you ABC Gippsland for your coverage.

19.01.2022 Buy a tile raises $30,000! Wow!! Thank you so much for being part of this incredibly popular fundraiser. We are completely overwhelmed with the response. Thanks also to Mirboo North & District Community Foundation who will match this $ for $. Round 1 is now closed. If you missed out, Round 2 applications will open over summer when our stunning new pool is launched.

19.01.2022 The team at RACV Solar have just installed a 70kW system, which will power the new commercial hot water heat pumps at the pool. These heat pumps will keep the pool at the ideal temperature for an extra 8-10 weeks either side of summer, allowing the community to enjoy this amazing facility for longer periods each year. It will also significantly reduce the running costs of the facility, freeing up capital for other improvements around the town.... A big thank you to RACV solar who made a significant donation towards the project cost through their community fund. How good does it look!

08.01.2022 Community reaches $1M fundraising target! We are so pleased to announce that we have met the $1M community fundraising target with the $100,000 Challenge Fund from the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation having been matched in total last month. Thank you to all individuals and families who have contributed to this campaign. The redevelopment work is progressing well and we can't wait to enjoy the upgraded facility. Here are some progress photos for those watching from afar.

07.01.2022 The South Gippsland Shire Council have provided an update on the opening of the refurbished pool. While originally slated for a December re-opening, the pool is now expected to be open by mid-February 2021. We can’t wait to celebrate the opening of this amazing facility which will attract visitors from far and wide. We pass on a big thank you to the South Gippsland Shire and their contractors who have been working tirelessly to get the pool open as soon as possible.

05.01.2022 RACV Solar contributes $25,000 in-kind donation to pool redevelopment. A new solar powered heat pump will be installed on the roof of the new building thanks to this generous donation from RACV Solar, previously Gippsland Solar. This is a wonderful outcome, providing benefits for the community for many years to come. These heat pumps are much more efficient than traditional systems and will keep the pool at the optimum temperature for longer periods. This means the pool will... be able to open for 6-8 weeks longer every year, opening earlier and closing later. The heat pumps will be powered by a 70kW (200 panel) solar power system installed on the roof of the new building. We are thrilled to support this upgrade to the new Mirboo North pool said Andy McCarthy the CEO of RACV Solar. Through a significant contribution from our Gippsland Solar Community Fund, and the generous support of our suppliers at Trina Solar and Enphase, we have been able to ensure the pool is open for much longer each year with the latest pool heating technology, and ensure lower electricity bills through the installation of a 70kW solar system. As a Mirboo North family, our 3 boys will enjoy the benefits of this upgrade for the next 20+ years, as will hundreds of other local families. It’s a great result for the community, and for the environment, and we thank the South Gippsland Shire Council for this amazing investment into the Mirboo North community. This announcement by RACV Solar is just amazing for us and we thank them for it said Jodie Pincini the secretary of the Friends of the Mirboo North Pool. It is another piece of the jigsaw puzzle falling into place and demonstrates again the commitment everyone in our community has for the pool. This donation will form part of the $1M community contribution towards the project. Business sponsorship packages are still available for the redevelopment, starting at $1,000.
