24.01.2022 Imagine the surprise of market-goers over the weekend to find teams of locals washing vacant shops, stringing up Christmas decorations, stripping lichen from pavers and even painting the town’s bollards all part of the first stages of Revitalising Ridgway. More than 40 people from across the community turned up on Saturday for a ‘Christmas Meet Up and Clean Up’ coordinated by MCDI’s Revitalising Ridgway working group - creating a sense of community like no other! A key part... of the ‘Christmas Meet Up and Clean Up’ was the installation and planting out of 32 beautiful wine barrel planter boxes that were generously gifted to the town from the @Mirboo North & District Community Bank as part of their 10th Birthday celebrations. Windows and facades of several vacant shops were cleaned in preparation for teams of Christmas decorators who will unleash their creativity on these under-loved spaces this week literally, watch this space!
