20.01.2022 Where We Have Helped 2010 - 2020 In ten years we have granted more than $1.5 million to the community. A large part of this has been through our Community Grant...s Program, which was the very first grant program set up all those years ago. Diana Mueller, Convenor of the Community Engagement and Grants Committee says it best: "We know money doesn’t have an impact on its own, we rely on the many volunteers who give their time and energy to build projects, events and organisations to make our community more vibrant, resilient and healthy." We have made a video so we could acknowledge the positive impact that this grants program has had on our district over the last decade. This was shown at our digital AGM held in November. We hope you enjoy watching it! #togetherwethrive #communityfoundation #philanthropyaustralia

18.01.2022 If you missed out on being a part of this fabulous working been don't panic. Just take a bottle of water with you when you go walking down the street and add some water to any pot that might need a drink. Don't forget to pick up a paper also because profits from the paper go back into our community

17.01.2022 Spoonville is here! Our very own Spoonville has officially been launched. You may have seen these popping up in other towns and communities. Designed to bring a glimmer of hope and positivity to towns in these uncertain times, its a visual representation demonstrating that we are all in this together. Please add to our Spoonville by painting or decorating a wooden spoon (add a layer of varnish over the top to make it weather proof), then sticking in in the garden bed outside IGA supermarket. Lets see if we can get our own little village of spoons for people to see and admire out on their walks or when grabbing the essentials. Lets continue look for rainbows and stars Thank you to Emily and Kylie for getting this off the ground and for the great photos. Thanks also MIrboo North IGA for hosting our Spoonville.

08.01.2022 Nominations are now open for the 2021 South Gippsland Australia Day Awards. The awards are a great way to acknowledge peoples hard work and commitment to our ...community. There are two categories in 2021: - 2021 Citizen of the Year - 2021 Young Citizen of the Year Normally there would also be a Community Event of the Year category to recognise events held during 2020 but as most events this year have been cancelled or postponed it was decided not to run this category in 2021. Selecting from such a limited field would be difficult and would be disappointing for the many organisers who were unable to proceed with their events due to COVID-19. Nominees will be acknowledged on Councils website and in local media, with winners to be announced at a celebratory dinner. You can submit a nomination at: www.southgippsland.vic.gov.au/australiaday
