18.01.2022 EMPLOYERS PLEDGE for Apprenticeships To grow apprenticeship commencements the Queensland Government is implementing a new initiative; the Queensland Apprenticeship Pledge.... Under the Queensland Apprenticeship Pledge, the government invites individual employers, including employers who do not currently have apprentices, to ‘make a pledge’ to employ additional apprentices. This initiative provides eligible employers with an incentive of up to $6,000 for each additional apprentice they employ and retain. The incentive is paid in two stages: $4,000 paid in October 2015; and $2,000 paid in October 2016. Only businesses that make a pledge are eligible to receive the incentive payments. The incentive will apply to eligible apprenticeships commenced from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015.
