06.01.2022 ONE OF OUR POLICIES - Vote 1 Miriam Guttman Jones Climate Change Federal government should be leading policy but there is much the states can do in practical ways.... 1. Renewable Energy Supplies Better support, incentives and infrastructure at macro and micro levels renewable energy power stations and solar panels for domestic usage. 2. Incentives for electric vehicles 3. No logging of old growth forests 4. No fracking and contamination of land and underground water tables 5. Better plastics management and recycling - extended banning of non compostable plastic bags, cups, straws, plastic food packaging and cutlery, etc. 6. Encourage commuters to leave their vehicles at home by Improved public transport, car share availability and appropriate bike ways. 7. Better water management through more extensive harvesting of storm water, cleaning up direct stormwater to harbour beaches.
