24.01.2022 Happy Valley looking great for this time of year.
23.01.2022 Snow coverage at Perisher... and sunset at Jindabyne.
23.01.2022 As many visiting the lodge this year would be aware, sadly the iconic Mirrabooka, "our gum tree", is no more. Our "special snow gum" was there at the very beginnings of Mirrabooka and was mentioned on page 6 of our 50 year Club history when Ernie and Lorna Philips went down and, as the History recounts, "staked a claim on the "best site in Perisher"" at Easter in 1960. The glory of our tree was captured in the painting which hangs in the lodge by Bob Aiken from the Warringah... Bush Walking club in 2001. Over the last decade our tree, "made weak by time and fate", gradually but noticeably declined in splendour. Early this year, concerned on safety grounds, the arborists were called in to assess the position. They concluded "tree is rotting out in the middle, tree should be removed" Having obtained the necessary NPWS consent, this was duly attended to recently. Vale "our tree"....

16.01.2022 Updated garbage disposal guidelines for 2015 issued by NPWS for season 2015 have been installed in the kitchen. A thermometer has been installed so you can monitor the weather. It can be observed from within the kitchen. Maps of Persiher, Smiggins and Guthega showing lifts, facilities and lodges have been posted on the wall in the corridor behind the lounge.
16.01.2022 15cm of fresh snow overnight... 45 lifts open this weekend... bring on the school holidays! Feel free to share/tag photos of you enjoying your time at Perisher and Mirrabooka Ski Lodge.

11.01.2022 Easter Weekend. And the lodge is looking fantastic.
11.01.2022 There now are "limited resources to fight fires" in KNP and that the risk to resort assets "within and around the ski resort precincts" is "high". These precincts include, of course, Perisher Valley and our Mirrabooka lodge. There has been a group of people in the lodge this week. ... We understand they left this morning around 6am ahead of the implementation of the KNP Evacuation Order at 10am today. They were asked last night to take with them items of historical significance from the lodge and to lock up, shut down power etc. The lodge will then be vacant so there is no ongoing risk to life. The directors met Monday week ago and an agenda item was the annual review of our lodge insurance. As Members know Mirrabooka is and has been for many years part of the JLT insurance consortium (comprising some 60+ Clubs in Perisher, Smiggins and Guthega) co-ordinated by Slopes - Perisher Range Resorts. Coincidentally in the last few months we commissioned an independent valuation of the lodge which confirms that we are fully insured. There is nothing more to be done at this stage. Essentially from this point it appears all KNP assets are at the mercy of the elements. We will keep you informed as and when there is further news.
11.01.2022 With big dumps expected this week, check out the groomed runs here: https://www.perisher.com.au///trail-status-grooming-report
10.01.2022 There has been over 70cm of snow in the last 7 days and Guthega and the Blue Cow T-Bar are finally opening up. Happy days!
04.01.2022 For all members and guests, remember that ski tickets are being released in batches. Perisher shop is only releasing tickets until 11 July at this stage.
